The Victorian harness racing community dug deep during the Easter period, raising $22,360 for The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) during the Good Friday Appeal.
Clubs across the state supported the initiative with events and donation buckets, ahead of the Good Friday raceday at Stawell in April.
Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) also hosted a donations webpage where people could donate direct, as well as contributing $5,000 to the appeal.
Since the early 1930s, the Good Friday Appeal has raised more than $421 million to deliver the best possible care to patients and their families at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
RCH CEO Bernadette McDonald thanked everyone who took part in the appeal.
“We are honoured and humbled by our community of supporters who go above and beyond to fundraise for us every year through the Good Friday Appeal. I am absolutely amazed with this year’s result, as I am every single year,” she said.
