Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for Thursday's big ten-race card at Kilmore.
R1 – 6.04pm – BERALDO COFFEE PACE – 1690m
9 – Lou Will
7 – Interpretation
8 – Olivia Rose
1 – Just Pedro
Lou Will was full of running when held up last start at Wagga, with clear air, he would’ve absolutely stormed home. That followed a strong win at Mildura, and he’s only continued to improve with each outing since arriving from New Zealand earlier this year.
Drawn barrier nine, the well-bred son of Sweet Lou looks well placed in this event. I do respect the favourite, Sometuffluv, but he faces a tough ask from the outside of the back row in barrier 11.
BACK: 9 Lou Will – 1 Unit (win)/1 Unit (place)
R2 – 6.37pm – TAB PACE – 1690m
9 – Ozzie Corka
6 – Half Price Bride
11 – Lorimermajor
10 – Burning Tickets
Ozzie Corka has been sectionally outperforming his rivals and comes out of a safe draw (barrier nine) over the short trip. He’s had his share of bad luck lately, but his recent runs have been better than they appear on paper. This looks a great opportunity for him to bounce back into the winner’s circle.
BACK: 9 Ozzie Corka – 2 Units (win)
R3 – 7.06pm – MOMENTUM GAMING PACE – 1690m
1 – Another Puddin
11 – Reign Em In
6 – Lady In Line
8 – Highview Hammer
Another Puddin, the lightly raced daughter of Somebeachsomewhere, has shown promise from just nine starts with one strong win, where she led throughout in impressive fashion.
She does face the risk of being crossed early by the fast-starting Hurrikane Dusty, but if she can hold a forward position and avoid getting shuffled back, she presents as a genuine winning chance.
BACK: 1 Another Puddin – 2 Units (win)
R4 – 7.36pm – CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES PACE – 1690m
3 – With In Reason
2 – Mighty Bling
9 – Im All Business
4 – Neon Tiger
R5 – 8.06pm – BROADSTEAD KILMORE TROT – 2180m
3 – Sky Spirit
13 – Strzelecki Sun
7 – No Money No Honey
6 – Keayang Brandy
R6 – 8.36pm– JET ROOFING PACE – 2180m
9 – Marako Shark
6 – Snazola
1 – Silver Domino
10 – Kimchi
R7 – 9.07pm – C&M BUILD GROUP 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE – 1690m
5 – Lombok
10 – Treacherous Jewel
2 – Betting On Tash
8 – Dashing Cowboy
Lombok steps out second-up this year and for the ninth time in his career. His third placing at Mildura last start was solid, and he looks likely to improve off the back of that run. In what appears to be a modest field, he looks well placed to break through for a deserved maiden win.
BACK: 5 Lombok – 2 Units (win)
R8 – 9.37pm – MC SECURITY CONCESSION DRIVERS PACE – 2180m
1 – Rocket Me
4 – Are Weasley
3 – Blackmirra
8 – Northern Terror
Rocket Me hasn’t had much go his way lately, he was shuffled back last start but still found the line well, and the run prior he was hampered by a flat tyre. He draws ideally in barrier one this time and, with a smoother run, looks a strong each-way or place chance.
BACK: 1 Rocket Me – 1 Unit (win)/1 Unit (place)
R9 – 10.06pm – O'BRIEN ELECTRICAL 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE – 1690m
4 – Coogee
1 – Keeping It Simple
3 – Sneaky Philtra
9 – Rollwitharty
R10 – 10.33pm – BUDS & BRANCHES FLORIST TROT – 1690m
4 – Vici Bloom
1 – Constant
2 – Winnies Dream
8 – Rymes
