Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for Wednesday's meeting at Bendigo.

R1 – 6.14pm – VHRC / Australian Pacing Gold Pace – 1650m

5 – Kimcando

13 – Lorimermajor

11 – Shaq

12 – Mister Jimaringle

There appears to be little separating Kimcando (barrier 5) from the better horses drawn on the back line. Over the shorter trip, Kimcando will likely take advantage of starting ahead of the other favourite runners and make the most of the barrier. Her recent sectional times have been fantastic, and she’s a great winning chance here.

BACK: 5 Kimcando – 2 Unit (win)

R2 – 6.44pm – VHRC / Benstud Pace – 1650m

4 – Reign Em In

10 – Harley Blue

2 – Final Bow

12 – Bettorsweetvictory

R3 – 7.13pm – VHRC / Renown Silverware Pace – 2150m

6 – Atomic Glory

10 – Tex Goes Bang

3 – Muriel

1 – Salsboy

R4 – 7.40pm – VHRC / Aldebaran Park Trot – 2150m

3 – Jilliby Dreamlover

5 – Bullapark Beno

2 – Jansu

7 – April Sun

Jilliby Dreamlover comes from the brilliant trotting stable of Marg and Paddy Lee. She’s had two starts, galloping out of contention in her first but winning well at Terang in the other. She’s likely to improve with every run, and if she trots all the way here, she’s a great winning hope.

BACK: 3 Jilliby Dreamlover – 2 Unit (win)

R5 – 8.11pm – VHRC / Gbl Properties Pace – 1650m

8 – Crafty Old Fox

6 – Very Tempting

4 – My Lucky Rock

2 – Cobber Mac

Although he hasn’t found the winner’s circle, Crafty Old Fox’s sectional times in his last two runs have been very strong compared to this field. It’s a bit of an awkward barrier, but if he doesn’t end up too far back, he should be flashing home late.

BACK: 8 Crafty Old Fox – 1 Unit (win)

R6 – 6.14pm – VHRC / Rich River Golf Club Trot – 1650m

9 – Against The Bridle

7 – Fling It Rainbow

4 – Beautiful Sunrise

10 – Wallis

Against The Bridle’s manners haven’t been great in his last two starts from a front-row barrier. He has barrier nine here, which should give him time and space to settle early. If he does everything right, he’s good enough to win this event.

BACK: 9 Against The Bridle – 1 Unit (win)

R7 – 6.14pm – VHRC / Mark Gurry & Associates Pace – 2150m

2 – Steel The Moment

8 – Smart And Mighty

7 – Major Manbar

5 – Feel The Reign

Steel The Moment’s sectional times have been brilliant, and he looks like the standout runner in this event. Although he’s been out of the winner’s circle for over a year, he appears to have found a very winnable race here.

BACK: 2 Steel The Moment – 2 Unit (win)

R8 – 6.14pm – VHRC / Mazzetti Painting 2yo Trot – 1650m

7 – Truscotts Elegance

5 – Ceejay On Broadway

6 – Aldebaran Tucker

2 – Maximum Courage

Out of the two-year-old trotters that have raced in Victoria this year, Truscotts Elegance has been the biggest eye-catcher. All her runs and trials have shown she has a brilliant motor and a stunning turn of foot. If she trots throughout, you won’t miss this flashy chestnut.

BACK: 7 Truscotts Elegance – 2 Unit (win)
