GOODFORM – Bronte’s tips and analysis for Kilmore

Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for tonight’s racing at Kilmore.

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: MADGE EGAN (10) has the clear standout recent sectional times in this field. Last start she settled last before sustaining a long run to finish second. She will need to overcome the wide back-row barrier but is going well enough to win. WHATS THE TEA (7) is a trotter who lines up regularly and always gives his best for driver James Herbertson. The barrier is tricky, but he cannot be left out of a race like this. LOUIEVILLE LASS (1) has gate speed and should map well along the fence from barrier one. THE NIGHT QUEEN (13) is first-up and faces a difficult draw, but she is capable of flashing home late.

BACK: MADGE EGAN (10) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: MADGE EGAN (10), WHATS THE TEA (7), LOUIEVILLE LASS (1), NIGHT QUEEN (13)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: INTERPRETATION (10) is a versatile runner who has been racing well recently. Two starts back she covered an extra 27 metres racing wide and won well. Last start she flashed home well into second after getting too far back. Tough barrier but she can make her own luck. VINCHESKA (6) was good last start when second when first up for Mitchell Frost after a long spell. Will improve from that run. DIVINE TILLY (5) is racing far better than her numerical form suggests. She’s a top mare who will progress through her grades. MISS PIGGY WIGGY (1) is racing really well and has the ace barrier here.

BACK: INTERPRETATION (10) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: INTERPRETATION (10), VINCHESKA (6), DIVINE TILLY (5), MISS PIGGY WIGGY (1)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: WALLIS (5) performed well on Shepparton Cup night in a support race and is racing in good form. If he can map into a suitable position, he will be flashing home late, with leading driver James Herbertson taking the reins. SCAR (6) did it tough in the breeze last start and was only beaten late into second. He can make his own luck. BUSLIN BRODY (8) is a high-speed trotter who will need to navigate the fence barrier. If he settles throughout and is close enough late, he will be right in the finish. MIELICKI (9) should secure a good run into the moving line from barrier nine and is good enough to be a winning chance with the right trip.

BACK: WALLIS (5) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: WALLIS (5), SCAR (6), BUSLIN BRODY (8), MIELICKI (9)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: RIDDLEMETHIS (5) has the clear standout sectional times in this field. Last start he covered an extra 26 metres when racing wide and was beaten just 1.3 metres. If he gets a trail into the race late, he will be flashing home. SHIRALEE (7) is trained by Leilani Justice, whose team is racing well. She is likely to map towards the back from the barrier, but if the tempo is strong, she will be finishing off late. REGAL ROCK (8) is a last-start winner chasing his 26th career victory. An experienced horse who is in form, he will need luck, but if he gets clear running, he could go back-to-back. ATOMIC GLORY (4) flashed home last start after being shuffled back and is racing better than his numerical form suggests.

SELECTIONS: RIDDLEMETHIS (5), SHIRALEE (7), REGAL ROCK (8), ATOMIC GLORY (4)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: WICHITA KANSAS (9) is another runner from the in-form Leilani Justice stable. She won last start after doing it tough in the breeze and should be able to follow through at the start to secure a handy position and be a threat late. ILLAWONG PHOENIX (8) has posted good recent sectional times, although she hasn’t been back to the winner’s circle since October 2025. She will need luck but could be flashing home late. GLENLINE (7) is first-up after a short freshen-up after something went amiss, but prior to that he was racing well. At his best, he is a winning chance. BJ ROBERTSON (10) is the youngest horse in the field and takes on more experienced rivals. He continues to improve with each start and is still learning his craft, but he has ability and will need luck.

BACK: WICHITA KANSAS (9) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: WICHITA KANSAS (9), ILLAWONG PHOENIX (8), GLENLINE (7), BJ ROBERTSON (10)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: QUIRKY CHARACTER (9) is a smart, progressive trotter who has been in career-best form since late last year. He has been narrowly beaten at his past two starts, with both performances full of merit. He does have a tendency to break in the score-up, but if he begins cleanly and trots throughout, he looks the one to beat. CENTURION DREAM (3) is a mare who raced against top-level horses through her age-group the last few years. She has found a suitable race here. She hit the line well last start after doing work and can make her own luck. NOBLE COUNT (2) is in career-best form after winning his past two starts and has a favourable barrier, though this is a step up in class. KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (4) has the second-best sectional times in the field. Last start he covered an extra 31 metres at Melton on New Year’s Eve when sustaining a long run to finish fifth. If he can settle forward here, he is a winning chance.

BACK: QUIRKY CHARACTER (9) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: QUIRKY CHARACTER (9), CENTURION DREAM (3), NOBLE COUNT (2), KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (4)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: BETTOR MAN (4) appears to have taken a significant step forward at his past two starts. He had to do it tough but battled on well to place, beaten by talented and progressive horses. He looks to have found his confidence and appears well placed to break through for his maiden victory. MI BOW (2) is a consistent mare by trotting sensation Volstead. Prepared by Ross Graham and driven by James Herbertson, she has the right set-up to be given every chance. She maps well and is a genuine winning chance. DUNS BOY (3) is an improving, lightly raced trotter who is still learning what racing is all about. Having his third start this preparation, further improvement is expected. IN HIGH PLACES (8) comes from the leading trotting stable of Brent Lilley. As the sole runner on the second line, he has options.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR MAN (4), MI BOW (2), DUNS BOY (3), IN HIGH PLACES (8)
