Gunbower Cup Day - Get involved in a great Sunday afternoon's harness racing.
R1 – 12:23pm – A.G Warehouse Cohuna Maiden Pace - 2030m
5 – Speedy Healey
10 – Ollies Medal
2 – Livermere
4 – Courageous Caesar
Speedy Healey comes through a 2yo race at Melton where I think there was a fair bit of talent, and the form may stand up well. He showed no speed from the mobile there, but I really liked the way he found the line. I think the big spaces of Gunbower can only work to his advantage.
BACK: 5 Speedy Healey – 1 Unit (win)
R2 – 1:02pm – Tom & Brenda McGillivrey Maiden Trot – 2030m
5 – Ox Knox
2 – Midnite Muscle
8 – Sky Lindy
3 – Yoshida
Ox Knox made his debut as a 5yo last time at Bendigo and we learned a lot to inform he’s a bet here. He was forced to sit parked in good time outside favourite Midnight Muscle who punctured under the pressure making Ox Knox a brave sitting shot. With the benefit of that knowledge, he looks a horse with ability who should be waved to the front and prove hard to run down.
BACK: 5 Ox Knox – 4 Units (win)
R3 – 1:33pm – Mawsons / APG Trot – 2030m
3 – Critical Advantage
6 – Billy Zippin
10 – Whats The Tea
1 – Hurricane Jane
R4 – 2:09pm – K.L Cooke & Sons / Lindsay Pollock Memorial Trot – 2030m
11 – Sista Evarista
6 – Singara Ted
3 – Dossier
7 – The Sky Is The Limit
R5 – 2:44pm – Northern Herd Development Pace – 2030m
5 – Eagle Major
7 – Soar
6 – Our True Colours
3 – Hand Writer
R6 – 3:34pm – Cohuna Car Sales / Bill Poxon Memorial Gunbower Trotters Cup – 2630m
3 – Suga Daddy
4 – Maestro
11 – Wish Upona Dream
13 – Berriesandcherries
R7 – 4:09pm – MVP Feeds Cohuna / R & E Brereton Memorial Pace – 2030m
9 – Rabada
2 – Marlo Maraeu
10 – Hoorah Philtra
5 – Wind Sock
Rabada hasn’t had the best of luck his last few runs either from bad draws or being caught wide with circumstances not falling his way. He’s getting fitter with each run this campaign and this race sets up as the most suitable he’s faced this time in.
BACK: 9 Rabada – 1 Unit (win)
R8 – 4:46pm – Travla Gunbower Pacing Cup – 2630m
11 – Arggghhh
9 – Captain Pins
10 – Western Sonador
5 – Alby Two Chains
Arggghhh is such an honest 8yo who often finds himself in the deep end with strong company because of his rating. He looks very well placed here, on the back of a 5th last start at Melton where he was excellent on the clock. Keen on “The Pirate” to plunder the Gunbower treasure!
BACK: 11 Arggghhh – 2 Units (win)
R9 – 5:21pm – McLoughlan Construction Pace – 2030m
10 – James Garner
6 – Apieceoflou
5 – Direct Command
13 – Kia Ora Beauty
James Garner gets in well with Sean O’Sullivan’s claim here and his form the past two has been terrific. He’s done it tough his past two winning at Melton and shown plenty of heart to finish 3rd last time. This looks to be a suitable assignment even if he has to come with one run late.
BACK: 10 James Garner – 2 Units (win)

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
