Ryan Phelan has done the form for tonight's 7-race card at Shepparton.
R1 – 6:07pm – Neatline Homes Pace - 2190m
4 – Aliza Hill
6 – Arraps
9 – Apieceoflou
5 – Cresco Threepeat
Aliza Hill was a last start winner when able to lead all the way over the sprint trip. She goes up in distance and I think maps well to show speed and take cover. Hopefully she can be strong enough to take advantage of the sprint lane.
BACK: 4 Aliza Hill – 1 Unit (win)
R2 – 6:37pm – Cottrells Electrical Pace – 1690m
2 – Wind Sock
3– Therockgod
9 – Sunset Stride
6 – No Neigh Philtra
I’ve been with Wind Sock a few times this preparation and he’s been honest without winning. Has the gate speed to work forward here over the mile, and if he can find the front, he will be mighty hard to run down.
BACK: 2 Wind Sock – 1 Unit (win)
R3 – 7:13pm – Your Sold Real Estate Pace – 2190m
1 – Big Sledge Hammer
5 – Ivana Bytheseaside
6 – Good Tobe Locksley
8 – Im Dustee
Big Sledge Hammer is a horse that looks a have some ability, but has proven to be a handful at various times. You get the ultimate driver change with James Herbertson going on now. He has early gate speed, but I expect him to weigh up options with potential leaders to his outside. In Herbie we trust!
BACK: 1 Big Sledge Hammer – 2 Units (win)
R4 – 7:40pm – Saddleworld Shepparton Pace – 1690m
8 – Ohhemmjay Cresco
9 – Jersey Sam
7 – Tex Goes Bang
6 – Beryls Grin
R5 – 8:10pm – Hunter Rural Trot – 1690m
5 – Jansu
9 – Whats The Tea
7 – Kyvalley Paint
2 – Montana Muscle
Jansu has found good form over the past month for trainer Faye McEwen, relishing the short trip when she’s able to race up on speed. She gets those conditions again tonight; against an opposition she’s been comfortable enough with previously.
BACK: 5 Jansu – 2 Units (win)
R6 – 8:40pm – Grenada Park 5yo & Older 0-1 LTW Pace – 1690m
8 – The Silent Assassin
9 – Charlie Chops
2 – Royle Blood
6 – Streets Of Madrid
I was with The Silent Assassin last start when winning with a strong final burst off a slow speed. This race doesn’t look any stronger and despite being off the back row, over the short trip, I can't see these running a quick enough final quarter to hold him off late.
BACK: 8 The Silent Assassin – 3 Units (win)
R7 – 9:10pm – Central Tyre Service Trot – 2190m
4 – At The Distance
7 – Lizzies Son
6 – The Chook
5 – Sweet Maori Miss
It’s hard to get enthused about the consistency of this line up. So, I’m looking to the map rather than the form. At The Distance has speed on his inside and outside and may be happy to let those sort themselves out and conserve energy for the finish. I don’t see the last quarter being fast for Chris Alford to lift him late.
BACK: 4 At The Distance – 1 Unit (win)

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
