Ryan Phelan has outlined his picks and suggested game plan for Sunday's six-race card at Cobram.

R1 – 2:44pm – VHRC Super Bonus Series Mares Pace - 1670m

2 – Bubby To Base

5 – Kia Ora Beauty

6 – Most Triumphant

7 – Dieing Art

Bubby To Base is a 3yo filly taking on more experienced rivals here, but I like what I’ve seen to date. Connections have often thrown her into top races as a 2 and 3yo, so despite how the form appeared, the ability was there. Last start she broke through for a well-deserved win, sitting parked and running away. I think Bubby To Base is worth a solid play.

BACK: 2 Bubby To Base - 3 Units (win)

R2 – 3:19pm – VHRC Bonus Super Series Cobram Hotel Pace – 1670m

9 – Ohhemmjay Cresco

8 – Olly Odd Potts

2 – Beryls Grin

7 – Marianna Bromac

Ohhemmjay Cresco has been a model of consistency placing his last six starts against better opposition to what he’s facing here. He is a bit one paced and he is 0/3 this track, but maybe the driver change of Blake Jones might be the ingredient to change his luck.

BACK: 9 Ohhemmjay Cresco - 2 Units (win)

R3 – 3:59pm – VHRC Bonus Super Series Benstud Pace – 1670m

3 – Cresco Threepeat

4 – Aliza Hill

1 – Hand Writer

6 – Arraps

R4 – 4:34pm – VHRC Bonus Super Series Grainstore 3yo & Older Pace – 1670m

1 – Betathanaboughtone

5 – Altatude

6 – Johnny Tang

2 – Letsgo Ethan

R5 – 4:59pm – VHRC Bonus Super Series CMCU 2yo Maiden Pace – 1670m

11 – Ollies Medal

9 – Angels Watching

1 – Sloanie Bel

5 – Guaranteed End

Ollies Medal just can’t catch a break with barrier draws and although that is against him, I’ve seen enough in his two career runs to see he has ability. He’s a nicely furnished 2yo, and showed good speed at his debut run, and had to come wide in fast time in a strong Tatlow at Melton. Will need some luck again but worth a play.

BACK: 11 Ollies Medal - 2 Units (win)

R6 – 5:34pm – VHRC Super Bonus Pace – 2170m

8 – The Iron Duke

7 – No Neigh Philtra

3 – Changeover Girl

5 – Forever Yin

The Iron Duke drops back in class from a much stronger race at Melton where David Miles thought enough of him to put him into the fray mid race, and despite finishing 8th he was solid to the line. Same trip from a bit of a sticky draw, but if he can get the right cart into the race, he’s the one to beat.

BACK: 8 The Iron Duke – 3 Units (win)
