GOODFORM – Saturday night selections for Melton

Tim O’Connor has provided his race-by-race tips and game plan for tonight’s meeting at Melton Entertainment Park.

R1 – 6.32pm – MIMOSA HOMES TROT – 1720m

3 – Maximez

9 – Nakedtruth

11 – Mister Blindside

2 – Jack Sprat

Maximez was super through the Vicbred Super Series, including an eye-catching third in the Group 1 final, and I think he’s going good enough to win a race like this from the front row draw.

BACK: 3 Maximez – 2 units (win)

R2 – 7.03pm – VALE JOE THOMPSON PACE – 1720m

4 – Roadmaster

3 – Louie Lou I

8 – Bettor Isolate

9 – Serg Blanco

Roadmaster has produced some great runs this campaign, including a runner-up placing to Petracca last time at Geelong when he dashed home from last. Could he work to the front here? Looks hard to beat.

BACK: 4 Roadmaster – 3 units (win)

R3 – 7.32pm – JAYBRO – THE CIVIL SUPPLY SPECIALISTS PACE – 2240m

6 – Curyo Gentleman

1 – Ferrigno

3 – Ideal Moth

5 – Herakles

R4 – 8.07pm – HYGAIN EDGE TROT – 1720m

11 – Quirky Character

9 – Kiss At Midnight

5 – Kyvalley Jenny

6 – Rattle My Cage

R5 – 8.37pm – LOGICAL STAFFING SOLUTIONS PACE – 1720m

5 – Emily Vincent

8 – Strapping Red

9 – Hes All Torque

1 – Clymenus

Very hard race, but Emily Vincent draws to have a dip for the lead here and would be hard to catch if she found the front. Not sure she will, but want to be on if she does. Small each-way.

BACK: 5 Emily Vincent – 1 unit (each-way)

R6 – 9.13pm – HERTZ MELTON PACE – 1720m

1 – Wattlebank Arnie

4 – Hes No Romeo

8 – Always The Showman

2 – Hugo Rocks

Wattlebank Arnie is going good of late, including being runner-up in a strong race at Bendigo and then fourth last time when he was caught parked. Gate one here helps and I’m hoping he’s leader’s back. From there, he’s a strong winning hope.

BACK: 1 Wattlebank Arnie – 2 units (win)

R7 – 9.45pm – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE – 2240m

2 – Dessie Gee

7 – Pesci

5 – Madigan

8 – Plains In Heaven

Tricky race again, but I’ve been in the corner of Dessie Gee for his last couple of runs and I’m going to go again here in a race where he should find the pegs. The stablemate Alot Like Louie has been well backed, but happy Dessie’s way from a handy spot in running.

BACK: 2 Dessie Gee – 1 unit (win)

R8 – 10.20pm – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT – 2240m

8 – Imperial Command

5 – El Resamo

7 – Gotfeelingsyouknow

4 – Kyvalley Maven

(Noting a small ownership share in Imperial Command)

QUADDIE

5, 8, 9, 1, 3

1, 4, 8

2, 7, 5, 8, 6

8, 5, 7
