The Casey Demons Netball Club hopes Jason Bonnington can shoot plenty of goals via the Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Grassroots Gold GoodForm Game Plan on Saturday night.
The netball club has partnered with Cranbourne Harness Racing Club for Saturday night’s $50,000 Decron Cranbourne Gold Cup, with all returns from the Grassroots Gold GoodForm Game Plan to be netted by the Demons.
Demons coach Robynn Pym said the club was delighted to be involved with Grassroots Gold and will be cheering on Bonnington’s tips trackside at the cup.
“We’ll have a good number of us on-course, players and club officials, to enjoy what promises to be a great night out at the Cranbourne trots,” Ms Pym said.

“The Casey Demons are a new netball club and as is the case with all local sports clubs, extra funds certainly assist with all aspects of our operation.
“We’re rapt to have been selected by the Cranbourne Club to be involved in this program and have our fingers crossed that Jason has a good night!”
Bonnington said Decron Cranbourne Gold Cup night was one of his favourite nights of the year and he’s feeling “cautiously optimistic” at this early stage.
“We almost hit the jackpot at our first go at Kilmore but still secured about $430 for the Kilmore Football Netball Club, and let’s hope can take it to the next level at Cranbourne,” Bonnington said.
Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) General Manager of Marketing Andrew English wished the Demons well.
“HRV is proud to support the 25 country trots clubs and their partner clubs and associations right across Victoria by providing the vouchers for the Grassroots Gold campaign,” Mr English said.
“This will raise important revenue for grassroots sports, particularly in our regional communities where the trots clubs provide important social, economic and communal outcomes.
“Here’s hoping Bonners can go on the attack with his Game Plan and feed through plenty of profits!”
Cranbourne Racing Manager Cam Gallagher said the trots club was pleased to have partnered with the Demons.
“We’re thrilled with the concept of Grassroots Gold, which is a great initiative to engage with the local community and raise much needed funds for a new start-up netball club in the City of Casey,” he said.
