Hannah Lewis shaping her career in harness racing

Hannah Lewis recently ticked off a career milestone, winning the Gregg’s Electrical Ouyen Pacing Cup with Crime Writer,a horse trained by Matthew Craven, who she works for. It was a special victory and one the young horsewoman won’t forget in a hurry. Bronte Nieuwenburg caught up with Hannah to chat about the win and her journey so far in harness racing.

Three-year-old gelding Golden Tribe took on the older horses in the Sharps Bakery Pace on Saturday night. He had to overcome the tricky barrier of 12. He was last with a lap to run but looped the field very impressively to win.

Mission accomplished.

The decision to swing more major races on to Victoria Cup night and make it an extravaganza has worked, even three weeks before it plays out.
