A whole heap of fun is planned during the Victorian Harness Racing Club’s Echuca Cup Weekend Getaway later this month.
The VHRC is taking bookings for the trip, which will take in the Echuca meeting on Friday, March 25 before a tour of two of Victoria’s leading standardbred breeding establishments the following day.
Those in attendance will travel to Benstud and Aldebaran Park to inspect their yearling drafts one week prior to the Nutrien Equine Melbourne Sale.
A dinner and live entertainment will take place at Rich River Golf Club following the farm visits.
On the Friday night, racegoers can enjoy the $35,000 Echuca Pacing Cup and $20,000 Echuca Trotters Cup from the comfort of the special VHRC marquee.
“The VHRC is committed to supporting all aspects of our industry,” VHRC general manager Rob Auber, who will host the weekend with leading caller Dan Mielicki, said.
“The Echuca Cup weekend provides the opportunity to get up and personal not only with the horses, but the participants that are involved in all aspects of our industry.
“There’s plenty to do so come along and meet lots of new people that enjoy and love the sport of harness racing.”
