The generosity of the Harness Racing Victoria family is being called on in the lead-up to Easter.
HRV has launched an industry-wide Good Friday Appeal, with Boort kick-starting the fundraising effort at its cup meeting last Sunday.
And you can help The Royal Children’s Hospital continue its extraordinary work by digging deep and donating via the HRV page here.
Victorian clubs will support the initiative with events and donation opportunities in the coming weeks as all roads lead to the Good Friday raceday at Stawell on April 7.
Stawell will put the finishing touches on the campaign when it hosts one of just three harness racing meetings Australia-wide on that day.
The newly-created Pleasant Creek Plate will be a highlight of the card, with pacers set to tackle heats before qualifiers battle it out in a $10,000 final later the same afternoon.
With support from the Stawell Athletic Club, which hosts its iconic Stawell Gift carnival the same weekend, the afternoon will also feature a participant sprint down the home straight as well as a senior drivers’ pony trot race.
Since the early 1930s, the Good Friday Appeal has raised over $421 million to deliver the best possible care to patients and their families at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
