Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is pleased to welcome highly regarded steward Grant Adams to the role of Deputy Chief Steward (Industry).

Mr Adams steps away from his post as Chairman of Stewards with Harness Racing New South Wales to take up the Victorian role.

“This appointment further underscores the Victorian harness racing industry’s capacity to attract quality people,” HRV General Manager – Integrity Brent Fisher said.

Mr Adams will work closely with current HRV Chief Steward Brett Day and Deputy Chief Steward (Operations) Nick Murray.

“Adding Grant to the team will allow for a greater focus on industry related integrity matters, including a strengthened internal review process, and stronger mentoring and development of stewards and participants,” Mr Fisher said.

“Grant adds further depth and experience to our stewards’ panel, which now consists of five members who have served as a Chairman of Stewards in an Australian harness jurisdiction.

“Grant is highly credentialled, having gained broad regulatory experience in performing the NSW Chairman of Stewards’ role snice October 2017. He has dealt with a range of important and high-profile integrity matters, including chairing several Group 1 race meetings.”

Mr Adams said he looked forward to getting started at HRV.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Mr Day and his team of stewards at HRV, which holds an established position as one of the leading integrity units in the country,” Mr Adams said.

Mr Adams will commence his role in July.
