“Lenny just was beautiful … it was just like going away with your best mate,” says David Aiken in the last of the Legends of the Inter Dominion series.
The Victorian trainer reunited with Lennytheshark at Empire Stallions to relive their 2015 Inter Dominion success, which helped see the trots pin-up boy become a legend of the sport.
The victory would also see Aiken realise a life-long dream to win “the pinnacle” of harness racing.
“(The Inter Dominion’s) concept of three heats and a final is a great test of a horse and you usually get the best horses and the best drivers,” Aiken said.
“You hope you are going to get a horse good enough and when I did it was just unbelievable.”
