“He was a tough horse, he was a great race horse," says Jim O'Sullivan of My Lightning Blue, who circled the field to win the 1987 Inter Dominion, a great race win celebrated in the legends series.

"I thought I had the best horse in the race and I actually drove him that way," O'Sullivan said in the Legends of the Inter Dominion series, which is building up to ID18 at Tabcorp Park Melton in December.

"I haven’t actually seen an Inter Dominion run as tough as that. He was last, circled the field, three-wide for the mile and he (set) the world record – he was the fastest horse in the world for 2600m at that stage. It was a really great win.”
