A terrific night's racing at Terang looks set to kick off the West region in style, with a pearler of an open class showdown and a couple of terrific two-year-olds going head to head.

Central to both race are drivers Jason Lee and Kerryn Manning, who were among guests to join Blake Redden and Michael Howard on today's three-hour edition of Talking Trots on Track.

Lee looks to have the upper hand in the Southwest Conveyancing 2YO Pace, which kicks off at 7pm on Trots Vision. He'll steer Keayang Kamikaze, who was super impressive on debut behind winner Bah Room Banta at Tabcorp Park Melton.

An early favourite, Lee said he held plenty of concern about Jaziah, who Kerryn Manning will drive for father Peter.

“(Keayang Kamikaze)’s a really nice, speedy little fella. We were super happy with him first up,” Lee told Talking Trots on Track. “I do reckon Peter Manning’s horse (Jaziah) will run a great race tonight and if it did happen to get everything go its way, we’d have to be fast to get past it."

Manning is well positioned in the fifth race, the Terang Co-Op Rural Store Pace, when she'll steer Pat Stanley and his stablemate Stroke Of Luck, who's drawn directly inside him on the back row.

While Fides looms large on the front row for Matt Craven, Manning spoke confidently about her chances.
