Star reinswomen Kerryn Manning is looking to claim more Vicbred Super Series glory tonight at Bendigo where she has eight drives in the Silver and Bronze finals.
Manning added to her illustrious career record on Saturday night with a Group 1 victory aboard the David Abrahams-trained Rapid Return.
In an event that looked a two-horse showdown between Susan Is Her Name and Rockinwithattitude, Abrahams’ chestnut mare flashed over the top to win the Back Of The Neck Vicbred Super Series (4yo Trotting Mares) Final.
Manning has discussed her drives tonight at Bendigo, with race one kicking off at 5.59pm.
R1 – Vicbred Super Series (4yo Entires & Geldings) Silver Pace
#2 Spicy Major – Manning says: “My first drive on him. I know Jodi has always had a good opinion of him. He’s drawn well to settle handy and on his best form won’t be far away.”
R3 – Vicbred Super Series (3yo Colts & Geldings) Silver Pace
#3 Our Better Bro – Manning says: “He’s very honest and rarely runs a bad race but might find a few of these a bit good.”
R4 – Vicbred Super Series (3yo Fillies) Silver Pace
#4 Time To Torque – Manning says: “Another who is very honest and is never far away but might find some of these a bit classy.”
R5 – Vicbred Super Series (4yo Mares) Silver Pace
#1 Delightful Tammy – Manning says: “She will appreciate the good draw and big drop in class from what she’s been in of late. She’s a nice horse on her day and gets her chance to find form again.”
R6 – Vicbred Super Series (2yo Fillies) Silver Pace
#9 Surfe La Mer – Manning says: “One of my favourites here at home – she’s a nice filly with good ability. She was below par two runs back but had excuses, then not much luck in a hot field last time out. Gets her chance to bounce back with no bad luck.”
R7 – Vicbred Super Series 3yo Bronze Pace
#6 Cee Cee Lou – Manning says: “First drive on him from an awkward draw. Looks to have a bit of ability but won’t be an easy task and will need luck.”
R8 – Vicbred Super Series 2yo Bronze Pace
#8 Torque Power – Manning says: “I quite like this little fella. Not much of him but he’s got good speed and his last run was good. If he settles handy, he won’t be far away.”
R9 – Vicbred Super Series (4yo Entires & Geldings) Bronze Pace
#3 Cheerstolou – Manning says: “Probably a better horse than his form suggests. Drawn to lead and grows a leg when in front, so if he does should be in it for a long way.”
