Riley, who is the son of owner-trainer Darren Pace and grandson of fellow owner Vic Pace, handled the Betting Line-Dreams In Heaven gelding Blazin By to perfection in the Apco Service Stations Strathdale and Kangaroo Flat 3Y0 Maiden Pace.
Blazin By settled four back in the moving line from gate two and came with a sustained three-wide run in the last lap to score convincingly by 7.3m on the line.
Riley was overjoyed with his breakthrough moment and raised his whip in triumph throughout the concluding stages of the race.
To make the victory even more enjoyable, it doubled as Darren’s 50th training success.
