Mark Pitt hasn’t been able to give much love to his newly acquired farm of late.

As the stable elect postilion for the powerful Emma Stewart stable, Pitt has spent most of his waking hours either behind the wheel of a car or in charge of the reins attached to a seemingly endless production line of outstanding equine athletes.

In the past month Pitt has finished runner up (Beyond Delight) in the Maryborough Cup and has saluted in both the Swan Hill (Our Millionaire) and Geelong Pacing Cups (Mach Dan).

He also found the time to steer four Stewart-trained runners to victory in the Breeders Crown 3YO heats at Bendigo last Friday before partnering five of the stable’s muster to victory in the 2YO heats at Maryborough last Sunday.

“There hasn’t been a lot of time for any work around the farm,” Pitt said.

On Saturday night Stewart and Pitt are poised to make a clean sweep of the Breeders Crown (2YO) semi-finals at Tabcorp Park Melton, with The Lost Storm ($1.25), Techys Watching ($1.55), Tempting Tigress ($3.40) and Major Delight ($1.20).

Pitt shares his thoughts on the highly talented quartet.

The Lost Storm: “He is a nice horse and could be the pick of the colts. He is all you ask for in a horse and will be a serious horse in a couple of years as he still has a lot improvement in him.”

Techys Watching: “He is still really inexperienced having only had the three starts. He is pretty green and will be a nice horse once he works it all out, he has gate speed so we should find the lead from the draw.”

Tempting Tigress: “She is a real good horse who couldn’t have been more impressive in her three starts since coming from New Zealand. They can’t go any better than what she did in winning her heat at Maryborough, where she went super and had plenty left. She is all class and pending on the tempo in the race she is capable of coming three wide late to win.”

Major Delight: “She is the best two-year-old filly I’ve seen for a long time. Once she hits the front she pricks her ears looking for them so once she works it out I don’t know how they are going to beat her.”

The good oil from the Vic trials circuit

BLACKBOOKER: Tabcorp Park Melton, R2 N8, Cool Night
At Melton on September 27, COOL NIGHT, an Andy Gath prepared juvenile, showed very good acceleration to win his trial comfortably. He settled four back on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trail on the home turn and came out three horses wide on the home turn, winning untouched. REPORT & REPLAY
BLACKBOOKER: Tabcorp Park Melton, R3 N8, First Dance
At Melton on October 24, FIRST DANCE, who was very green at her Geelong trial victory a week earlier, appeared to be more switched on at Melton with an easy victory in handy time. She led throughout and was well clear of her rivals at the finish. REPORT & REPLAY
BLACKBOOKER: Tabcorp Park Melton, R4 N4, Perfect In Pink
At Geelong on September 19, THE LOST STORM and PERFECT IN PINK continued an impressive campaign with solid trial performances. THE LOST STORM was without cover early, trailed the leader from the 1300m and moved away from the inside at the 300m mark. He just got the better of his stable mate PERFECT IN PINK, who set the speed from the mile marker. REPORT & REPLAY
