Six horses have made their way into the Metrospective Blackbook from Saturday night’s metropolitan meeting at Tabcorp Park Melton.

With Saturday nights to be staged in the country for the next four weeks, Jason Bonnington and Nikkita Ross reviewed the final Melton meeting in today's edition of TrotsLife on SEN Track, each finding four horses they felt worthy of entering the blackbook.

HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S BLACKBOOK ADDITIONS:

R1 N13 KOSIMO:

JB: Hard to believe how this bloke doesn’t win at this level next start after two consecutive blackbook performances. How he got so close based on splits and draw here is tough to comprehend.

NR: He had been building towards it, but to monster the line and narrowly miss from barrier 13 had blackbook written all over it. A slight bit of luck and you would think he should be winning a race soon.

R5 N12 DRAIN THE SWAMP:

JB:  On one hand, the pace was sufficient that he had his chance to win. On the other he’s finished on better than anything out wide and must prevail again sooner rather than later.

R5 N6 CELESTIAL GOSSIP:

NR: Found the top, copped pressure and still only one horse got past him late in a 1:54.6 mile rate over the middle trip. This came off the back of an eye catching performance the previous week  coming from off the speed. He has a few weapons and is going really well.

R5 N8 YAMBUKIAN

NR: I doubt that many horses would have been able to stick on like he did to be beaten 10m, three wide with the times they were running. It was a really tough effort second up from a spell and on that run he’ll take some beating wherever he goes next.

R7 N7 SICARIO:

JB: Best of the second-tier runners in an impossible contest for back-markers and very well placed to go back and win another $100K Claimer next time around.

R9 N3 LIZZIES LEGACY:

JB: She won’t be winning against the better ones at this early stage of her career, but there was plenty to like about the way she savaged the line despite interference and there must be an easier contest for her somewhere very soon.
