Young Avalon trainer Nathan Purdon is taking two horses to the races at Kilmore on Friday night and both have been met with some early support by TAB punters.
Markets were opened Tuesday for some of the features and Purdon’s pair American Dealer (pictured) and Amazing Dream have attracted good interest.
Boom three-year-old colt American Dealer was backed at the opening quote of $2.50 and is now the clear $1.85 favourite to take out the Reg Withers 3YO Classic, while Amazing Dream, the only mare in the Jet Roofing Kilmore Pacing Cup, has been crunched from $5 into $3.20 and shared the top line of betting with General Dodge on Wednesday afternoon.
One punter had a $1000 swing at General Dodge at $3.40 on Tuesday, while VHRC Caduceus Classic winner Triple Eight is also well fancied in the Group 2 event. A string of win and place wagers have been placed on the former New Zealander, who is now in the care of Jess Tubbs.
The MC Labour Kilmore Trotters Cup is another of the features on the 10-race card, with a $2000 crack at last-start Australasian Trotting Championship winner Maori Law ($3.20) one of the early strikes.
