Nathan Jack is confident with Spyglass on Victoria Cup night

Nathan Jack is no stranger to success, having already scored 38 Group 1 victories in his illustrious career.

The star reinsman is tackling four Group 1 drives this Saturday night, including a drive aboard the 2021 Victoria Cup winner Max Delight in this year’s edition of the event.

Jack has outlined his chances ahead of the meeting, with a big push for Spyglass who opened at $34 (on Sportsbet).

Race 3 – Benstud Queen Of The Pacific (Group 1)

#9 – My Moonlite Dream (Trainer: Seaton Grima)

Jack says – “Nice filly, strong race. She’s going to need a lot of luck.”

Race 4 – Aldebaran Park Bill Collins Trotters Sprint (Group 1)

#5 – Im Ready Jet (Trainer: Andy Gath)

Jack says – “Great horse in against two champions (Just Believe and Callmethebreeze). She has a tricky draw and will also need a lot of luck.”

Race 6 – Sportsbet Victoria Cup (Group 1)

#4 – Max Delight (Trainer: David Aiken)

2021 Victoria Cup Winner

Jack says – “Ordinary draw, and I have a great horse underneath me. Hopefully a place chance.”

Race 8 – Living Legends Pace

#10 – Spyglass (Trainer: Wayne Potter)

Jack says – “I really like this one and I think he’s a good chance. His first-up run was great and if there’s a bit of speed early, he will be hitting the line better than anything.”

Race 9 – Catanach’s Jewellers Victoria Trotters Oaks (Group 1)

#13 – Violet Stanford (Trainer: Nathan Jack)

Jack says – “She runs into a champion again and there’s a lot of traffic. I am not too sure what we are going to do. We will have to pray for a lot of luck as well.”

BEST BET FOR THE NIGHT

Jack says – “Spyglass each-way!”

Three-year-old gelding Golden Tribe took on the older horses in the Sharps Bakery Pace on Saturday night. He had to overcome the tricky barrier of 12. He was last with a lap to run but looped the field very impressively to win.

Mission accomplished.

The decision to swing more major races on to Victoria Cup night and make it an extravaganza has worked, even three weeks before it plays out.
