New names set to flourish in Victoria’s calling ranks

Two fresh new voices have been hitting the airwaves in recent times and we’re set to hear a whole lot more of them in Victoria during the coming weeks and months.

Michael Taslaman and Patrick Doyle have both been given opportunities to call races and will now form part of the Harness Racing Victoria broadcasting roster.

Taslaman, 42, is well known in trots circles for his calls at numerous trial venues, and while 20-year-old Doyle is more familiar with the thoroughbreds, is ready to make a name in harness racing.

Taslaman is set down to call two races at tonight’s Geelong meeting, while Doyle will take charge of the entire Mildura card on Friday, July 8.

The pair joined Tim O’Connor on SEN Track’s TrotsLife program to discuss their passion for racing, careers so far and hopes for the future.

While the ink is far from dry on the $500,000 Summer Of Glory bonus cheque, superstar mare Keayang Zahara is on track to provide her connections with a windfall after her effortless win in the Group 1 $100,000 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile.
