Pink Galahs' fourth Group 1 was a special one for connections of the mighty mare, who claimed a dominant victory in the Darrell Alexander Trotting Championship Final at Albion Park this evening.

Matthew Craven's star went into the $52,000 feature with a perfect record in Queensland after two lead-up wins, and despite a 20m handicap and three-wide run through the middle stages of the race, was far too good for her rivals.

The pint-sized squaregaiter cruised to a 6.9m triumph over the grueling 2647m trip.

The result was made even more memorable given the legendary Bryan Healy was on track to witness the performance of a horse he part-owns. Healy was the driver of champion trotter Maori's Idol and watched on as Pink Galahs carried his green and gold colours to glory.

"I know how much she means to him and it was one of the key reasons why we were so keen to get her here, for Bryan being retired up here on the Gold Coast now," Craven told Sky Racing post-race.

"We know how famous Bryan is and these colours, so to get a Group 1 win here at Albion Park is great for all involved and I'm sure we'll celebrate this one."

Craven paid tribute to Pink Galahs - a Group 1 Bill Collins Trotters Sprint, Victoria Trotters Oaks and Victoria Trotters Derby champion in 2020 - who has now won 16 of 30 career starts for well over $250,000 in prizemoney.

"When you have got a good horse they make you look good, that's for sure," he said.

"We were fair going from a long way out, but to her credit she sustained a lovely run and I'm very proud of her."

Victorian-based driver Anthony Butt also claimed Group 1 glory at Albion Park on Saturday night when Ray Green-trained Copy That held on for a narrow success in the Sunshine Sprint.

The Kiwi star backed-up his second placing in The Rising Sun from a week earlier with a thrilling short-half head triumph in the $100,000 event.

Avalon trainer Nathan Purdon won The Rising Sun with Amazing Dream and was narrowly denied another elite level triumph when bolter Jeradas Delight tipped out that horse and stablemate Spellbound in a three-way photo finish to The Golden Girl.
