Ballarat local Sam Barker is preparing for the Woodlands Stud Ballarat Pacing Cup this Saturday night with Ultimate Vinnie, a horse who has played a key role in his career.
Barker has formed a strong bond with the horse over the years, with Ultimate Vinnie being a highlight of his training career. “Now we are heading into the Ballarat Cup, it’s probably one of those races you want to win,” Barker says. “He’s going to need a little bit of luck this week, but you need to be in it to win it.”
Taylah Markham, who has owned the talented gelding since he was a yearling, and Barker shared their journey with Ultimate Vinnie as he prepares for his local cup.
