Rock N Roll Doo is the latest name added to the runners chasing the million-dollar The Race by Grins in New Zealand on April 12.

The Michael Stanley-prepared gelding will join fellow Victorian pacer, the Jess Tubbs-trained Better Eclipse, on a trip across the Tasman for the slot feature.

The Burrumbeet trainer is excited by the opportunity.

“It’s going to be a ripping race and really looking forward to be a part of it,” Stanley told Campbell’s Comments.

The winner of the 2022 Victoria Cup is slowly getting back to his top after an impressive second placing in Saturday night’s Australian Light Horse Free For All at Menangle.

“Ideally we wanted to be in the Miracle Mile tonight, but things didn’t go our way. But the horse ran amazing and showed that he is nearly back to his best,” Stanley said.

Rock N Roll Doo is expected to run in the Waikato Mile at Cambridge on April 4 as a lead-up to The Race by Grins.

Queensland hero Leap To Fame has been withdrawn from the million-dollar feature after a long campaign that has snared the Inter Dominion, A G Hunter Cup and Miracle Mile crowns across three states since December last year.
