A stable switch has paid immediate dividends with Pre Eminant.
Following a second and fourth during her first two starts, Pre Eminant was transferred to premier trainer Emma Stewart early last month. The daughter of Captaintreacherous has since had two starts for Stewart for a pair of wins, including last night’s Tatlow Stake in Melton. Impressed with Pre Eminant’s early efforts, Stewart has set her sights on next month’s Australian Pacing Gold Vicbred Super Series. Heats of the futurity are scheduled to be conducted in Bendigo on November 5.
“She has been a nice pick up for the stable,” Stewart said.
“She hasn’t set a hoof wrong since she got here and gives the impression there is improvement to come.
“She’s only had four starts, so there is a lot of scope for her to grow into a racehorse as she gains experience.
“We’ll set her for the Vicbred now and see how she goes.”
Leading throughout from barrier two with Ryan Sanderson in the cart, Pre Eminant held on to win a head from her stablemate, Willows Girl.
After travelling two-back along the pegs, Delizioso was 12 metres away third in 1:57.3 over 2240 metres. Earlier on the card Stewart combined with Mark Pitt to score with Uniquely Ideal. After finding the front from gate five Uniquely Ideal cruised to a six-and-a-half metre win from Scheming. Pet Kitty was a head away third in 1:55.8 over 2240 metres.
First-up from an eight-month spell, Uniquely Ideal continued his ‘all or nothing’ form with six wins from 14 starts.
