Chris Svanosio’s trotting pair are in good shape and have been cleared after being ruled out of Saturday night's Great Southern Star Final.
The duo competed in the first heat of the trotting feature on Sportsbet A.G Hunter Cup night with the Kerryn Manning -driven Lovemeto finishing second while the Svanosio-piloted Arcee Phoenix finished fourth.
The pair made it through to the final, but were ruled out prior to the barrier draw for the final being conducted.
“It wasn’t an ideal night,” Svanosio said. “I have just had Arcee Phoenix at Werribee Vets and he has got a clean bill of health.”
The gelding out of Justa Phoenix sizzled home after Inter Dominion winner The Locomotive blitzed the field to win in a mile rate of 1.51.6.
“He went terrific and It was a shame to qualify for the final and not be able to run,” he said.
Lovemeto has also been in a clean bill of health since Saturday night’s heat performance.
“Lovemeto seems really good as well – his scope was virtually perfect and he just seems terrific and he seems really well,” he said. “I will give him a trial at some stage and see where we head too next.
“He ran the third fastest time that has ever been run in the Southern Hemisphere and he did it off the pegs.
“Even though he was scratched I was still wrapped with him and I have never had a horse go better than him.
“I am hoping we can reproduce that form where ever we go next.”
