Swan Hill: Christmas may come early

Will there be an early Christmas in the What The Hill Swan Hill Trotters Cup?

Woodlands Stud in conjunction with Kilmore Harness Racing Club and Swan Hill Trotting Club has a bonus of a free service to the exciting new trotting stallion What The Hill for winning both trotters cups.

With Father Christmas, from the Brent Lilley stable, winning the McIvor Estate Kilmore Trotters Cup he can now win the free service to What The Hill valued at $7,700 for connection should he be first past the post in this Friday’s Swan Hill Trotters Cup.

Woodlands Australian representative Mark Hughes was excited about the prospect of this bonus going off.

He said What The Hill was a high quality young stallion from the all-conquering Muscle Hill. Breeders in both Australia and New Zealand have been quick to support What The Hill this year with many quality trotting mares booked to him.

Let’s hope Father Christmas picks up this fabulous bonus for his connections.

More money will be directed to breeders under a change to Vicbred first-win bonus allocations, which will take effect in Victoria from October 13.

Victorian hobby trainer Peter Wallis has broken a 28-year drought from the winner’s circle, preparing five-year-old gelding Orch (Lincoln Royal) to a victory at the Melton harness racing meeting on Friday night (Sept 26).
