Swan Hill Trotting Club is counting down to the Kiel Tiling Blue Pearl Classic at its January 9 meeting, a celebration of the sport's talented reinswoman.

Club Manager Marnya Watson said “the all-female drivers race is getting bigger and bigger each year".

"If last year’s result is anything to go by it will once again be an outstanding spectacle,” Ms Watson said.

The beautiful Blue Pearl necklace is awarded to the winning driver on the night, which is entirely sponsored by local business Kiel Tiling, a great supporter of the club.

Ms Watson said a huge crowd had booked out the upstairs dining room with visitors coming from all over the globe.

As was the case last year, female race caller Victoria Shaw has been confirmed to call the race and those who took the opportunity to listen in last year will have picked up on Victoria’s absolute enthusiasm throughout the running of the race.

The Blue Pearl Classic coincides with Swan Hill Trotting Club's family fun meeting, when the club provides extra activities for all the family members to enjoy. This has the added benefit to highlight the trots diversity to a younger generation.

Swan Hill will also be giving trainers a $50 fuel vouchers for any fourth to last placegetters.
