Sweetnikkilou has had the ultimate preparation heading into Saturday night’s Group 3 Alabar Farms Ladyship Cup.
The four-year-old mare blitzed her competition to win the final event on Hertz Melton Casey Classic night by almost 10m.
“She has had a good week and has pulled up fine,” trainer-driver Aaron Dunn said. “She was good last week and she rolled past (the Emma Stewart-trained) Sweet Bella.”
“I wasn’t sure if I had done enough with her and I was unsure about going forward, but it all worked out in the end.”
The winner of seven races from 16 starts has continued to rise in class ahead of Saturday night’s $50,000 event.
“My filly has continued to step up each time and hopefully she can go to another level again this week,” he said.
A date with Menangle could be the next stop on the journey for the daughter out of Nikkibadwagon.
“If she goes well, I will take her up to Sydney for the heats of the Chariots of Fire, I will take her and Dee Roe up for that,” he said.
SweetNikkilou has drawn three for Saturday night’s event with early favourite the Jason Grimson-trained Aardies Express drawing seven.
“The Seaton Grima-trained Sweet Mama (One) and My Moonlite Dream (Five) get out well, but would she hand up to me?” he said.
The Group 3 Alabar Farms Ladyship Classic is the seventh race on a stacked 10-race Sportsbet A.G Hunter Cup card with the Yabby Dam Farms Group 1 Great Southern Star the major squaregaiting feature.
