Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) today announced Tabcorp as principal sponsorship partner for Australasia’s most prestigious harness racing series, the 2018 TAB Inter Dominion.
The new sponsorship agreement includes naming rights to both the Inter Dominion pacing and trotting series of races, comprising heats and grand finals, the Inter Dominion barrier draw function to be held at Zinc Federation Square and the associated live broadcast from the barrier draw on RSN.
Tabcorp Executive General Manager of Wagering Andy Wright welcomed today’s announcement.
“TAB is delighted to back the Inter Dominion as it returns to Victoria for the first time in a decade. As Australia’s biggest supporter of racing it’s natural that we would back the biggest harness race in Australia,” Mr Wright said.
“Punters that support TAB are supporting Australian racing. We’re thrilled to be part of the Channel 7 coverage of the series and we can’t wait to see the 2018 TAB Inter Dominion action.”
HRV Chairman Dale Monteith thanked TAB for its ongoing commitment to the Australian racing industry and its support for the Inter Dominion.
“The TAB brand is synonymous with all codes of racing in Australia and we’re thrilled to have the TAB brand aligned with the 2018 Inter Dominion as it returns to Victoria for the first time since 2008,” Mr Monteith said.
“TAB is the natural fit for the Inter Dominion given its prominent sponsorships of premier races across all codes, including the TAB Everest and TAB Australian Cup in the thoroughbreds and the TAB Melbourne Cup in the greyhounds.”
Last week HRV announced a partnership with the Seven Network, which will deliver live free-to-air national television coverage of the 2018 TAB Inter Dominion Finals from Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night, December 15.
