King Of Swing remains a dominant favourite with TAB to win Saturday’s Miracle Mile at Tabcorp Park Menangle, but the early move has been for exciting four-year-old Bondi Lockdown.
TAB installed King Of Swing $1.50 favourite after last night’s barrier draw, which will see the Belinda McCarthy-trained star start from gate one as he bids to become the first horse to win the race three years in succession.
Bondi Lockdown is seen by many as the main threat to King Of Swing’s chances. After he came up with barrier nine (seven if emergencies Jay Ok and Like A Wildfire come out), TAB shifted his price out to $11 after it was as low as $5.50 pre-draw.
That was too good to pass up for a handful of punters who immediately started chipping away at the Aaron Dunn-trained-and-driven pacer. At one point, he was $11-$6, but has now eased slightly to be a $7 third pick.
One customer is banking on a huge run from Bondi Lockdown after placing two multis involving the Chariots Of Fire runner-up and also NSW Derby favourite, Leap Of Faith. Should both horses win, the customer will pick up a tick over $17,000.
