Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has postponed tonight’s scheduled Tabcorp Park Melton race meeting as a precautionary measure following a non-racing Tabcorp Park staff member testing positive to COVID-19.

“A hospitality staff member from Tabcorp Park has tested positive to COVID-19. This individual we believe has no direct contact with harness racing participants or racing staff,” HRV CEO Dayle Brown said.

“We have taken a thoroughly cautious approach throughout this pandemic and will continue to do everything we can to protect the health and wellbeing of industry staff and participants. The decision to postpone tonight’s meeting is a precautionary measure.

“Our team is working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services and we will make a further announcement regarding this meeting and Monday’s Kilmore meeting, which is also based in the Melbourne and Surrounds region, as early as possible.

“The venue has undergone a deep clean and all staff members who have had close contact with the individual are self-isolating until they receive their COVID-19 test results.”

Participants with questions or concerns should phone HRV’s industry participant welfare hotline on (03) 9214 0663. The hotline operates from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
