The ageless Bulletproof Boy has put himself in the firing line to more than double his stake earnings by the end of the summer after successfully defending his Bendigo Cup crown.

Keayang Zahara may already be a champion, Kingman looks every bit an emerging champion, but Bulletproof Boy is the people’s champion of Bendigo Cup night.

Trainer-driver Scott Ewen was disappointed with the 10-year-old’s last-start effort at Melton Entertainment Park on Saturday night when he led comfortably and faded late to be beaten 4.8m into fifth.
