In the spirit of celebrating our great sport and remembering just what our incredible athletes are capable of on, and off the track, let’s take a look back at the decade that was.

Stay tuned for the countdown as we deliver one incredible race replay each and every day in the search for the most exciting contest in the last 10 years.
5. 2018 Fremantle Cup – My Hard Copy
Don’t worry, there’s still at least one more blow out to come on this list from a punting perspective, but when putting this list together, the betting markets very rarely play a role.
This race was supposed to be dominated by Lazarus after his demolition of an Inter Dominion just weeks earlier.
But that’s just not how Perth racing works. No inch is given and even the best horses are made to earn wins.
What makes this almost more extraordinary than any other race on this list, is that Mark Purdon was cut adrift by his partner, Natalie Rasmussen, who kicked up with Ultimate Machete to keep Lazarus wide on the track.
That led to what can only be described as a wild ride of emotions in the running.
My Hard Copy was expertly handled by Clinton Hall as he saw the opportunity to jump on the three-wide train a long, long way from home.
From there, not many words can do justice to both the performance of Lazarus but also the ripping finish that saw My Hard Copy add a Fremantle Pacing Cup to his collection of WA Pacing Cups already in the locker.
