A pool of $250,000 is projected for Saturday night's Early Quaddie at Melton Entertainment Park.

Check out how some of Harness Racing Victoria’s staff suggest tackling the opening four races on the card.

Ryan Phelan – TrotsVision host – ($100 gets 52.08 per cent)

Race 1: 1,4,8,9

Race 2: 1,4,9,11,12,13

Race 3: 6,9

Race 4: 1,5,8,9

Comments: If Watts Up Partytime continues his good behaviour it’s a race between he and Shes Ruby Roo, but I will take a little insurance by adding Hot To Trot and Love Gun. NSW visitor Libby Lou looks the testing material but adding local strength of the Stewart runners and the Cameron Hart factor.

Katherine McGowan – Marketing - ($100 gets 39.06 per cent)

Race 1: 6,2,8,11

Race 2: 1,11,4,5

Race 3 : 4,9,2,6

Race 4: 1,6,8,10

Comments: Skinnydip has placed strong in his last two starts and is expected to put in a big showing this week.

Rob Auber - Racecaller/TrotsVision host – ($100 gets 44.64 per cent)

Race 1: 1,3,6,7,8,9,10

Race 2: 1,4,8,13

Race 3: 2,9

Race 4: 1,5,8,11

Comments: I'm playing wide early with the jackpot. Like all Quaddies, if you can find some value in the early leg winners, the dividends swell. It's a tricky Early Quaddie with most races having multiple chances. I'm narrowing the third leg where my best each-way value chance for the night is number two Heavenly Charm!

Dan Mielicki – Racecaller - ($100 gets 69.44 per cent)

Race 1: 1,3,7,8,9,10

Race 2: 1,4,6,8,11,13

Race 3: 9

Race 4: 1,4,5,9

Comments: I’m keen on Captain Hammerhead. He was brilliant winning two back when leading. I think he can push through early and press on to the front. He seems to be a much better horse leading or on the pegs.

Tim O’Connor - HRV Media - ($100 gets 11.90 per cent)

Race 1: 1,3,6,8,9,10

Race 2: 4,8,11,12,13

Race 3: 3,4,6,8,9,10,12

Race 4:1,5,8,11

Comments: Definitely taking the cautious approach with this Early Quaddie, but I'm expecting a decent dividend given the wide-open nature of the first four races. In saying that, I could entertain staggered plays with just 1,8,9 in the first leg and 1,5 in the last.

Craig Rail – Form Analyst - ($100 gets 31.25 per cent)

Race 1: 1,3,8,9

Race 2: 4,11,12,13

Race 3: 4,6,9,10

Race 4: 1,5,8,9,11

Comments: Shes Ruby Roo is returning from New South Wales, where she followed a win at Menangle in a slick mile of 1.54.1 with a sixth in the Group 1 MacArthur Mile.

Bronte Nieuwenburg – HRV Media - ($100 gets 39.06 per cent)

Race 1: 8,9,3,1

Race 2: 4,8,1,11

Race 3: 9,2,10,1

Race 4: 1,5,9,4

Comments: My top four in the Early Quaddie are determined by horse-specific sectional data as well as race statistics and a variety of likely speed maps. Ubetcha Tigerpie, Roarforroscoe and Jillibyjacksparrow in race three have great sectional data, but I've left them out with their difficult barriers. They can be added back in for less risk.
