Unraced gelding Majestic Party Boy has entered the trial file of Harness Racing Victoria form guru, Craig Rail.
The gelding by Majestic Son showed a lot of potential in his Bendigo trial after missing the start.
"He missed away, settled four back on the markers, made a move at the 1200m to trail the leader at the bell, got shuffled back at the 600m mark and finished off nicely for second so he showed some potential," Rail said.
Majestic Party Boy joins Vera Lane, Ringer Wells and Keayang Minnesota as inclusions to the file this week.
TRIAL REPORT 274
SHEPPARTON 18/07/24
Trial 1: - MAD PUNTA began swiftly and speared to the lead in the early stages. He set up a reasonable tempo and had a good kick left at the finish to win by two metres. ASTRAL STRIDE finished in second after trailing the leader throughout and SPIRIT OF SAHARA was third after being three back on the markers. SPIRIT OF SAHARA is backing up at Mildura this afternoon and considering he only came to the outside with 100m remaining in the trial and made ground, he is worth following.

VALIENTE settled last of the three runners, came to the outside with 500m remaining and finished off solidly in handy final sectionals for a close second. He backed up at Ballarat on Thursday night. She took on older horses and was able to lead throughout so she produced a good performance. MAXIMEZ trailed the leader, used the sprint lane and finished off well for second. MINIMEZ was three back on the markers, came to the outside on the home turn and finished in third position. She is competing at Melton tomorrow night.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.3 Last Half: - 59.8 Margins: - 8m, 4m
Trial 4: - WOW YOU CAN DANCE was clearly the class runner of the field and went on to record an expected win. He settled down in last position (1-2), came out three horses wide at the 400m and finished off best to win with something in reserve. JOHN VINCENT settled fifth on the markers, moved into the death seat at the 600m mark and battled on bravely for a close second. His National Rating is 22 points below the winner so it was a tidy effort. PLAYNICE trailed the leader for most of the journey and worked into third spot.

BLACKBOOKER: - Majestic Party Boy
Trial 7: - VANQUISH STRIDE NZ trailed the leader, moved away from the inside on the home turn and finished off fast in brisk final sectionals to win the trial. It was a good hit-out for his performance at Menangle tomorrow night, where he should be suited to competing on a track with a very long home straight. OZZIE PUNTA attempted to lead throughout and finished in second with SAHARA TIGER doing his best work late from three back on the markers. SAHARA TIGER is competing in the open class event at Mildura this afternoon, where he appears to be a very good chance.

The second dam Dream Interest has produced the classy trotter Keayang Yankee (1.55.4, $51,240). She was three back on the markers, circled around to find the lead at the 1100m mark and held off the challenge of KEAYANG KURKI, which has had two starts in the Nutrien Series during April, where she won a heat and finished second in the final. The time of the trial was slow but both fillies appear to be very promising. KEAYANG ZIA finished in third after trailing the leader early and ending up being three back on the markers.

MELTON ENTERTAINMENT PARK 23/07/24
Trial 1: - SKY FLAIR hasn’t started since finishing third in the Nutrien Final in April but she appeared to be very sharp in her trial victory over older horses. She stepped away well from the standing start to trail the leader, waited for the sprint lane and finished off quickly. STOCKMAN PETER settled four back on the inside, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 500m and came out three horses wide on the home turn. He worked home well for second with TIPSY TURVY being third after settling last of the five runners and moving up without cover at the 600m mark. TUIPSY TURVY is backing up at Melton tomorrow night. Trial 2: - ULTIMATE SAFARI trailed the leader IMPERIAL NIGHT and came away from the inside at the 600m mark. The pair went hard leaving the back straight and dashed well clear of the remainder of the field with ULTIMATE SAFARI just getting the better of IMPERIAL NIGHT over the final 50m of the event. The last half was recorded in the slick time of 57.18 seconds so both horses performed very well. QUICK CRUNCH (3 back markers) was over ten lengths away in third position.
Mile Rate: - 2.1.5 Last Half: - 57.18 Margins: - 2m, 32m
-
Trial 4: - RINGER WELLS has been performing nicely at the trials and he has a low National Rating of 46 so he might be worth following. He was behind the leader early, moved around to find the lead with 1700m remaining and dominated his rivals to win comfortably. He is competing at Cranbourne on Sunday and must be considered as a winning chance. FREIGHT SHAKER is an unraced gelding for trainer Chris Svanosio and did a good job to come from three back on the markers and fill second spot. CAN ADEL SUCCEED led out then took cover and finished third, well clear of the fourth placed DISTANT SUN (5 back markers), which will be competing in the same race as RINGER WELLS at Cranbourne on Sunday.
Mile Rate: - 2.3.5 Last Half: - 59.83 Margins: - 7m, 5.5m

He came out three horses wide on the home turn and produced a big finish in a slick last quarter of 27.84 seconds to get the prize. CHAPPY STREETNORTH showed his natural early brilliance to find the lead and was run down on the line. RAINBOWSEND was a winner at Melton three starts ago and had no clear run when unplaced at his latest race track appearance back in June. He is returning at Shepparton on Tuesday night and the second placed CHAPPY STREETNORTH is set to compete at Cranbourne on Sunday.
Mile Rate: - 2.1.3 Last Half: - 56.56 Margins: - Head, 2m

He was last of the five runners in the early stages, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 400m mark and produced a big finish out wide on the track to draw clear of his rivals at the end. He would have built some confidence leading into his performance at Shepparton on Tuesday. DEEBRAXTON trailed the leader and used the sprint lane to finish in second with WHY NOT DREAM coming from three back on the markers to fill third spot. The early leader TIME AFTER TIME was run down over the latter stages and finished in fourth. The second placed DEEBRAXTON is scheduled to compete at Cranbourne on Sunday night.
