Emma Stewart's stable appears to have added a likely type to their team from New Zealand, with a trotter this week catching the eye of trial watchers.

Misucci was added to Craig Rail's Trial File Blackbook after an impressive Melton hit out by the four-year-old, who was bred and is owned by Jan Calvert.

Rail writes the winner of three of her 19 starts over the Tasman led throughout in her trial and dashed away in the straight amid a 28.34s last quarter, giving him confidence she will flourish with her 59 National Rating.

She was one of five new Blackbook additions, with reports and replays below. Scroll to the bottom for the updated Blackbook.

SHEPPARTON 10/06/21

Trial 1: - FUGLE was without cover early and dropped back to be last of the three runners. She came to the outside with 500m remaining and got the better of the early leader BUILDER BOB over the concluding stages. She backed up with an unlucky second at Bendigo on Wednesday night where she stormed along the sprint lane late. BUILDER BOB showed good early speed to lead and missed out narrowly. It was a good hit-out for his performance at Shepparton tonight. IRENE ROSE trailed the leader and appeared to have her chance in third position but she was taking on two handy horses.

Mile Rate: - 2.5.8            Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - Head, 20m

Trial 2: - GALACTIC GAL settled down in sixth position before moving to the outside with 1100m remaining. She was able to switch back to the inside at the 700m for a slight breather before making her winning run with 500m remaining. She raced away in the straight to win nicely. HOLSTEIN was seven back on the markers, moved into the running lane at the bell (1-2) before behind held up for a run at a vital stage. He moved out wide on the track over the final stages and finished fast to grab second position. ALTA MADEIRA began quickly and kept on pushing forward before finding the lead with 1800m remaining. He ran along at an even tempo before being overtaken on the home turn. He finished third ahead of JITTERBUG ARDEN, which gained a one out and one back trail behind GALACTIC GAL at the bell and switched back to the markers with 700m remaining. SMOOTH ROLLING was five back on the inside and beat home LIKAVEEEIGHT, which settled four back before moving away from the inside at the 700m mark. OUTLOOK began fast and gained the lead early before taking a trail. She finished seventh and TANGAROA (3 back markers) began yielding ground as the field left the back straight on the final occasion.

Trial 3: - BARNABY (Panspacificflight – Art For Artsplace) drew on the outside of the front line and showed very good gate speed to storm across and find the lead. He raced very fiercely for the entire journey but was strong at the finish and went to the line hard held to score by a large margin. SHARKTON commenced from the second line, settled sixth on the markers, and moved up without cover with 900m remaining. He was able to drop in to trail the leader at the quarter pole and tried hard for second position. He finished in third spot with LOCHINVAR CHARM (Art Major – Limerick Star $26,976) being fourth after making a mid-race move from fifth and dropping in behind the leader with 900m remaining. Trial 4: - WESTERN SONADOR dropped back to last in the early stages before moving into the death seat at the 1700m. He gradually worked forward and surged into the front running role with a lap remaining. He only just held on in the run to the finish but he appeared to have plenty left in the tank. SPRING IN HIS STEP prepared for his effort in tonight’s George Croxford Tribute with a game second. He led out, took a trail and used the sprint lane. He finished off strongly and missed out by a head on the line. CHANGEOVER GIRL began quickly and angled in behind the leader. She was three back on the markers from the bell and moved to the outside approaching the home turn. She appeared to be some chance with 150m remaining but peaked on her run over the latter stages. KEAYANG DA VINCI settled down in fourth position before being relegated to last when Western Sonador made his move. He beat home MARKLEIGH JEAN (3 then 4 back on the markers), which was competing out of her grade considering she has a National Rating of 54.

Trial 4: - ZARAS ALL GOOD was successful in trial four and backed up that performance with a handy third at Ballarat on Thursday night, where she was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished strongly for third. RONZEL SONNY finished in third position and is racing in the maiden event at Charlton on Monday afternoon. ALDEBARAN JAZZI finished in fourth position and backed up with an unplaced run at Ballarat on Thursday night after being headed off from the pole position. Trial 7: - FREE STARR has been shown some potential at the trials and was able to take out the seventh event from ALGORITHM. FREE STARR is returning from a break at Cranbourne on Sunday, where he appears to be a good chance. ALGORITHM competes in the same event and there wasn’t much separating the pair when the judge called a halt so it should be an interesting race on Sunday. ZAMBA DEVILLE finished in third position ahead of SCHNAPPSHOT and SETTLE THE BILL, which used the trial as a stepping stone to his performance at Bendigo on Wednesday bight but unfortunately missed a place.

Mile Rate: - 2.10.0          Final Half: - 59.8               Margins: - ½ head, 10m

Trial 2: - GHANASUYA was able to build his confidence leading into Ballarat on Thursday night with a trial victory over ELEGANT SAFARI. He trailed the leader and got up to score at Ballarat so the form line should be good for ELEGANT SAFARI and he steps out against the maiden class at Charlton on Monday. KELLYS IDEAL finished third in front of WANTED LADY, which backed up with a close second at Ballarat and ROCKNROLL OPAL finished last in the trial but also backed up with a second placed effort at Ballarat.

He was heavily supported at Bendigo on Wednesday night but failed to run on and finished unplaced. NAI HARN BAY trailed the leader before moving to the outside at the half mile marker. She became a little weary over the final stages and her leading margin dwindled but she never appeared to be in any danger of defeat. GOZO COURAGE settled three back on the markers and came to the outside with 500m remaining. He picked up second with MY SHADY MATE coming from last to pick up third. MY SHADY MATE resumes from a break at Charlton on Monday. SUGOI ALTO (Village Jolt – Sugar Alto) trailed the leader throughout and was last of the four runners to cross the line.

He continued to race greenly down the home straight but he had enough ability to hit the lead in the shadows of the post and get the job done. CASH BOOST began quickly and found the lead before taking cover at the 1400m. She came to the outside on the home turn and tried hard in the straight but couldn’t repel the challenge of PETREOS in the run to the finish. TWILIGHT WILLY finished in second position after trailing the leader throughout. LUCY SAWYER settled three back on the inside, moved into the death seat at the 1400m and unsuccessfully challenged for the lead before easing into the same position on the markers again at the 1100m. She tried to make another bid when she popped away from the inside at the quarter pole but the winner was just too slick. MEET MICHAELANGELO settled down in last position and came to the outside at the bell. He was able to secure second spot without being fully extended. COUNTESS CHIRON went quickly to find the lead on the first turn. She continued to run along at a genuine tempo and was approximately 50m in front with a lap remaining. She got tired late and was run down from the home turn. ALDEBARAN BOYD boxed on well after finding the lead at the bell and OUR DENEUVE (Love You – Armbro Starlet) finished last but it was a good performance as she was allowed to drop off the pack by a few lengths with 400m remaining and worked home nicely without having to be pushed at any stage.

Mile Rate: - 2.17.4          Final Half: - 61.2               Margins: - 3.5m, Head

Trial 3: - KOAWALSKI ANALYSIS produced an outstanding performance to win in a quality trial. He speared to the lead in the early stages, took a trail behind DEMON DELIGHT and showed electrifying speed when he came to the outside on the home turn. DEMON DELIGHT hasn’t raced since winning the Melton Plate in March 2020. He couldn’t match the brilliant acceleration of his stable mate in the run to the finish but he should be a lot fitter from the run. SEA LOVER settled three back on the markers and did enormously well to finish as close as he did, considering he has a National Rating of 57, compared the ratings of the first two placegetters (75 + 102 respectively). MASTER MOONLITE settled down last of the six runners and came to the outside on the home turn. He finished off well for a distant fourth. EASTBRO ADELE was five back on the markers and tried to make ground without cover from the half mile marker but the leaders had quickened substantially in the back straight. TABCORP PARK, MELTON 15/06/21

Trial 1: - JUST A BIT TOUCHY (Father Patrick – Gypsy Flair) created a big impression at the trials a week earlier when she missed the start and made up many lengths. ICEEYALOOKIN (Father Patrick – Joyces Choice 2.11.2, $4,215) attempted to lead all of the way and kicked back strongly when challenged in the home straight so it was a good performance. TACT TORY (Rocknroll Hanover – Tact Lizzie) settled down in last position, moved into the one out and one back trail behind CAPTAIN WILSON but couldn’t muster enough speed to be able to follow over the latter stages. LET GO MARSHALL was the last one to greet the judge after settling three back on the inside.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.8            Final Half: - 59.02    Margins: - 1.5m, 30.5m

EVAS IMAGE dropped back to last in the early stages before producing a big finish out wide on the track to gain third position. She went to the line without being fully extended so she might be in for a prosperous campaign. SIX NATIONS began fast and trailed the leader. GALACTIC GAL settled fifth on the inside before moving into the one out and on back trail on the home turn. She finished off well in the latter stages and picked up second position. DIVINE DIVA was fourth on the inside before weaving a passage over the final stages. She finished strongly via the sprint lane to finish third. HANCOCKS HERO raced without cover for the entire trip and the overall time was handy so it was a good performance to finish fourth. KEAYANG DA VINCI settled sixth on the inside, moved into a trailing position (1-2) and finished fifth with SECRET IDENTITY (7th on the markers) being just behind in sixth. THE LONGEST DAY ran to the lead shortly after the start, raced very roughly when the pressure went on leaving the back straight and eventually broke stride on the home turn hence being the last one to complete the course.

MY MATE COL held down second and the trotter BIG JACK HAMMER ran an eye-catching third after being four back on the inside, using the sprint lane and powering home at the end without being pushed. BIG JACK HAMMER looks set to run a big race at Melton tomorrow night. LIKAVEEEIGHT was three back on the markers and finished fourth with JACKSBOY (Art Major – Bridge Player 2.1.9, $32,450) being in last position for the duration.

ALDEBARAN PHOEBE was slow away from the standing start, settled approximately 20m behind the second last horse and was at the tail of the field for the majority of the trial. She came to the outside in the home straight and finished powerfully for an eye-catching third. She unfortunately makes a lot of errors but has a low National Rating (44) so she can be well placed to win a race in the near future. SEEYOUINMYDREAMS (Muscle Hill – Figment 2.6.1, $44,003) was three back on the markers throughout and finished fourth ahead of IRENE ROSE, which was without cover early before easing onto the markers in fourth position.

PATSY VALENTINE trailed the leader throughout and never peeled to the outside at any stage. She was given a few reminders in the straight so it is doubtful she would have been able to run down the leader. IDEAL COPY (American Ideal – Only A Copy 1.56.7, $11,030) was out of position at the start by approximately 15m and raced very greenly in the early stages of the event. He came out three horses wide on the home turn and finished off well to pick up a distant third. ALDEBARAN JETHRO was slow to begin and settled four back on the markers. He finished ahead of MONA LISA CAM (Million Dollar Cam – Lombo Mona Lisa 1.59.2, $81,298), which was in third position for the majority of the trial.

Trial 1: - LOLA DEVEREAUX continued her good trial form with a victory in the opening trial. She settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers at the 500m and got home best to score. MAJESTIC CONNIES stepped away best from the standing start and led comfortably. She kicked on well in the run to the finish and was able to hold down second position. She is returning from a break against a handy field at Charlton on Monday. BIRTHDAY SUIT settled four back on the markers and manoeuvred into the one out and one back trail at the 500m. He was able to work home fairly well late for third. The former New Zealander WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE put in an eye-catching trial performance. He stood still at the start and settled approximately 20m behind the second last horse. He came to the outside on the home turn and worked home nicely without being pushed at any stage so he is worth following. REGAL ASSASSIN was the last horse to finish after trailing the leader throughout.

Trial 2: - STORM STRIDE (Excel Stride – Scarlet Stride) began quickly from the pole position but wanted to take cover and came out of the gate under a strong hold. He trailed the leader and raced fiercely before coming to the outside and quickly dashing to the front with 500m remaining. He was able to sustain the run and won trial but his leading margin was diminishing at the end. BY MY GIRL (Somebeachsomewhere – TPS Girl) settled three back on the markers and moved away from the inside with 450m remaining. She was doing her best work over the final 50m and gained second from SYMPHONY STRIDE (Well Said – Spicy Stride 1.52.8, $184,635), which settled four back on the inside and gained a one out and one back trail when leaving the back straight on the final occasion. ARCHAA (A Rocknroll Dance – Shes Pinkalicious) was last of the five runners early and the widest runner from the 400m mark. He tried hard in the straight and finished fourth with the early leader PRIDE OF MARY being the last one home.

Trial 3: - MAJOR MAL began quickly to find the lead and was unchallenged from the start to the finish. He set up a moderate tempo and enjoyed the perfect trip but he was impressive as he hit the line under a strong grip and appeared to have plenty left at the finish. I CAST NO SHADOW settled last of the three runners, followed inside runs all of the way and finished second with LOLA MONTEZ being in third after trailing the leader and coming to the outside on the home turn.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.2            Final Half: - 59.0               Margins: - 6m, 2m

Trial 4: - RULES DON’T APPLY continues to impress at the trials and should go well when he steps out onto the race track for his first start since December. He trailed the leader CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD and quickly pounced at the 600m, dashing away and winning untouched by a large margin. STRESS FACTOR settled down last of the four runners, came to the outside on the home turn and finished off well for a distant second. The early leader CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD was overtaken in the backstraight on the final occasion and was third across the line. OUR THUNDER BUDDY settled three back on the inside, followed RULES DON’T APPLY into the race but broke stride on the home turn and lost all chance.

Trial 5: - MIDNIGHT DANCER (McArdle – Chick At The Bar 1.57.6, $26,425) settled four back on the markers and enjoyed a soft trip while the leaders were going hard early. She came to the outside with 500m remaining and picked up ground before switching to the inside of the leader SON OF ZODIAC and using the sprint lane to get up and score. SON OF ZODIAC was without cover early and came together with BETTERTHANGIGI on the first turn. He was eventually able to slide to the lead at the 1600m but copped pressure shortly afterwards. He took over at the 1100m before coming to outside half way down the back straight on the final occasion. He got away before the home turn but was run down at the end. REGALITY settled down in last position and came out three horses wide at the 500m mark. It appeared as though he was going better than MIDNIGHT DANCER approaching the home turn but he peaked a little at the finish and ended up being in third position across the line. BETTERTHANGIGI (Betterthancheddar – Mademoiselle Gigi 1.58.9, $45,441) showed good gate speed to lead, hung out on the first corner then took a trail. He ended up being three back on the inside at the 1100m and finished in a distant fourth. WHATISAYGOES was forced wide and broke stride momentarily on the first corner. She raced fiercely thereafter, dashing around into second, trailing the leader momentarily before attacking for the lead. She pulled too hard in the run and yielded ground over the latter stages.

Trial 6: - ROLL WITH EUNICE is a former New Zealander for trainer Brent Lilley. She settled down in last position, angled into the one out and one back trail at the 500m and came out three horses wide with 300m remaining. She picked up her rivals effortlessly in the home straight and won easily. The overall time and closing sectionals were slow but she switched right off and seemed to be enjoying herself down the straight so she had plenty to spare. MACHANICAL began quickly to find the lead and set up a slow tempo. He finished second ahead of DARKIES LAST (Hurricane Kingcole – Lil Safe), which settled three back on the markers and came to the outside with 450m remaining. IDYLLIC PRINCESS trailed the leader and appeared to be travelling well on the home turn but failed to accelerate via the sprint lane over the concluding stages.

Mile Rate: - 2.7.4            Final Half: - 64.6               Margins: - 5m, 2m

Trial 7: - ALDEBARAN YAHTZEE unfortunately galloped in the score up at her latest race track performance as she has shown improvement at the trials recently. She defeated a handy field after settling down third early, being shuffled back to fourth and moving up without cover from the 700m. She fought on well to win from KYVALLEY HEIST, which dropped back to last before finding the one out and one back trail. He was the widest runner into the straight and appeared to be cruising over the latter stages, finishing an eye-catching second. HERE COMES KYVALLEY rolled to the lead at the 1800m, took a trail at the 1200m and came to the outside on the home turn. He finished a close up third with SUGAR HIGH (leader, behind leader at 1800m) being fourth across the line. YANKEE MAUREEN was fourth early, moved around the field from the 1500m to find the lead at the 1200m but peaked late and was the last horse to finish.
