Dieng Fear looks to have a motor, leading throughout to win a trial at Maryborough.

El Bravo also impressed Rail with a brave run in a Melton trial.

SHEPPARTON 27/03/25

Trial 1: CORNISHTOWN KID settled three back on the inside and moved around to find the lead with 1500m remaining. He ran along at an even tempo and was able to score comfortably. He is backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. SHAKEN SANDS showed very good gate speed to lead early before taking cover and battled on quite nicely for second. She is also engaged to race at the Shepparton meeting on Tuesday. SKYGAZER settled last of the eight runners and moved up without cover at the 700m mark. He sustained a good run and finished in third position. The trotter DESTRIER trailed the leader early before ending up being three back on the markers. He went to the line with something in hand in fourth. MAORIS MAC (5 back markers) also went to the line with something in reserve and worked into fifth position. Both DESTRIER and MAORIS MAC are competing at Melton on Saturday night.

Trial 3: - NUGGET ROGERS showed his usual early brilliance to find the lead shortly after the start. He ran along at a genuine tempo and was able to hold off his rivals to win in reasonable time. He is competing at Wagga this afternoon. GUARANTEED END angled in for the trail behind his stable mate NUGGET ROGERS shortly after the start. He came to the outside on the home turn and chased hard to go down by a narrow margin. GIRL ON A ROCK settled four back on the markers and worked into a distant third.

Trial 4: - DELIZIOSO began fast to find the lead and dominated her rivals in the run to the finish to record an impressive win. She is making her debut in a heat of the Nutrien series at Melton this afternoon. STAR TO FALL began well and ended up being behind the leader. He couldn’t go with his stable mate over the latter stages but he was well clear of the remainder of the field in second place. PIASTRI was four back on the markers, moved to the outside with 500m remaining and worked into third ahead of BACK DATED (3 back markers).

MILDURA 28/03/25

Trial 1: - DALLAS MIKI has been unplaced in all of his three starts since resuming from a break but he was able to win his trial by a big margin. He is backing up on the Mildura Cup program this evening. SHANERRA STAR NZ is a former New South Wales pacer, which hasn’t started since July 2023. He has transferred from trainer Steve Turnbull to Andrew German and finished second in his comeback trial. He finished nicely clear of NOOSA BOY, which hasn’t started since being stood down to trial back in November.

BACCHUS MARSH 29/03

Trial 1: - ROSBERG NZ is a former New South Wales pacer, which joins trainer Wayne Stebbing. He created a good impression in breaking the two minutes barrier at Bacchus Marsh and winning his trial by just under a length so it will be interesting to see how he fares at Melton on Saturday night. LOUTHARIO hasn’t raced since May 2024 so he did a good job to finish in a close up second in reasonable time and he is resuming at Ararat on Sunday. JUDES DUDE finished in third position and was just ahead of BLISSFULL STRIDE. JUDES DUDE backed up with an eighth behind Chasing Rex at Ballarat on Thursday night.

Trial 2: - PROHIBITED GRACE has performed consistently without breaking through in four starts for the season but the Breeders Crown champion is getting closer to the money. She won her trial by a large margin over FLING IT RAINBOW, which galloped away at his latest unplaced run and MAUDARCHY NZ was the third horse across the line. FLING IT RAINBOW and MAUDARCHY NZ finished eighth and ninth respectively behind Mattyo at Ballarat on Thursday.

Trial 3: - UNCLAD backed up his good trial effort from two weeks earlier to win his trial by a large margin. He is nicely bred and is showing some promise so he is worth following. WAITING FOR ANNA has had several trials recently and finished in second position with SKYTE finishing in a distant third.

Trial 5: - GENERAL LINCOLN is a bold front running pacer when at his best form and was able to gain some confidence by winning the last trial in reasonable time. CALEDONIAN TERRA hasn’t raced since finishing second at Mount Gambier in December and was narrowly beaten in second with ROYAL CADENCE being the third horse across the line. ROYAL CADENCE will be backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. It was a good finish in the last trial with the margins being a head by a nose.

MARYBOROUGH 29/03/25

Trial 1: - NICE ONE CENTURION settled five back on the markers, made a move with a mile remaining and dashed to the front at the 1400m. He ran along at a genuine tempo and was able to hold on and win at the finish. AMERICAN ALLI led out then took cover before chasing hard in the home straight. He missed out by a narrow margin and is backing up at Melton this afternoon. FUEGO CRUZADO was four back on the markers before coming to the outside with 500m remaining. He finished in third position ahead of SENNA STORM, which was three back on the inside and MAJOR ANNIE came wide from last of the six runners to pick up fifth. SENNA STORM backed up with a seventh placed effort at Ballarat on Thursday night.

Trial 3: - DIEING FEAR showed very good gate speed and was able to hold out the early challenge of PENTAL STORM. She ran along at a genuine tempo and looked to be just as strong at the finish than she was at the start so she might be worth following. She is competing at Shepparton on Tuesday night. SEGUI LE STELLA settled five back on the inside, made a move from the 300m and ran home strongly for a game second. ATEGO BARBARAJOAN finished third after trailing the leader throughout and NAMELLA (4 back markers) was the fourth horse past the post.

BLACKBOOKER: - Dieing Fear

Trial 5: -SOLS ME NAME began swiftly to find the lead and rolled along at a genuine tempo. He remained strong at the finish and scored by a large margin. He is a juvenile colt by freshman sire Tall Dark Stranger out of the handy race mare Vouvray Beach (1.55.8, $59,128), which has already produced the classy performer Chenin Beach (1.59.1, $61,806). AMERICAN SQUARED settled three back on the markers and moved to the outside at the 600m. He finished second and was well clear of AMADA VILLMA, which trailed the leader throughout.

Trial 7: - BON VIVEUR began quickly to find the lead before taking cover behind FEAR THE POWER at the 1700m mark. He came to the outside on the home turn and showed good acceleration to win easily. JANIEBQUICK settled four back on the inside, angled wide turning for home and finished off strongly for second. FEAR THE POWER ended up being third past the post ahead of SKADI (3 back markers), which is backing up on the Mildura Cup program tonight, and the trotter PERFIDIOUS SUE was last of the five runners throughout.

Trial 1: - ROCKSTAR LEO settled three back on the markers and moved out three horses wide from the quarter pole. He sprinted quickly at the end and scored by a comfortable margin. He is backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. IZZ ROSA settled down four back on the markers and moved up without cover at the 700m mark. She hit the lead with 300m remaining but couldn’t repel the challenge of ROCKSTAR LEO. The early leader KEAYANG YOGI battled on fairly well for third.

Trial 4: - TOORAM CEE CEE began fast from his wide draw and found the lead shortly after the start. He set up a moderate tempo and had a good kick left in the run to the finish, winning untouched by five metres. TEMPTING TIGER settled three back on the markers and made a move at the 500m mark. He worked into second with ROCKING TIFF being third after trailing the leader and LOYOLA SPIAGGIA was last of the quartet for the duration. The second placed TEMPTING TIGER will be backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night.

CRANBOURNE 30/03/25

Trial 1: - MACHANE SAID began quickly to lead and set up an even tempo. He finished off in a slick final quarter of 28.0 seconds and was able to hold his rivals safely at bay. DENIS WILLIAM settled three back on the inside, moved off the markers from the 300m mark and chased hard for second. He is getting fitter and will be backing up at Melton tomorrow night. ROSANNA REBEL was without cover early, restrained to be last of the four runners and went to the line hard held with no clear run in third position so it was an eye-catching effort. MASTER REMI finished last of the quartet after trailing the leader throughout.

Trial 2: - RAKAJED began quickly from the standing start and found the front. He was unchallenged from start to finish and won comfortably. The former New Zealander PERUN NZ sat in the trail throughout and held his ground in the run to the judge. Both RAKAJED and PERUN NZ will be competing at Melton tomorrow night. STRZELECKI SUN galloped 50m after the start and again with 600m remaining thus he was the last horse across the line.

MELTON ENTERTAINMENT PARK 01/04/25

Trial 2: - IMA TERMINATOR has had an extensive trial campaign leading up to his first up performance and was able to take out the second event after leading throughout. He wanted to hang out at various stages of the event, particularly on the turn out of the front straight, but he finished off in a slick final quarter and defeated a smart horse in MY ULTIMATE BARNEY so it was a good performance. MY ULTIMATE BARNEY was stood down to trial after dropping out in the latter stages of the Bathurst Gold Chalice Final. He settled five back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 600m then switched in behind the leader on the home turn. He finished off well to be beaten by a narrow margin. GOODTIME LIBBY settled three back on the markers before moving to the outside at the 600m mark and battled on fairly for third.

Trial 3: - RAKERO REBEL NZ began fast to find the lead and ran along at a genuine tempo. She was able to lead throughout with BETTER ECLIPSE being in second after trailing the leader and SAHARA BREEZE was last of the trio throughout. Both BETTER ECLIPSE and SAHARA BREEZE remained following behind the winner and never peeled to the outside at any stage so not one of the three runners were seriously challenged at any stage.

Trial 4: - HYKEEPMEPOSTED began fast and dashed to the lead in the early stages. He continued to build on his lead in the last lap and raced away to an emphatic victory. ILOVEACALENDERGIRL settled four back on the markers, moved to the outside with 600m remaining and worked into a distant second. SHEEZ SLASHING settled down last of the six runners, was the first to make a move in the back straight and ended up being in the one out and one back trail behind ILOVEACALENDERGIRL. She was the third horse across the line but was a long way from the winner.

Trial 6: - GATESYS GEM had a good season in her juvenile term considering she won the Tatlow Stakes and was runner up in both the Redwood Classic and the Breeders Crown. She appears to have come back in top order as she won her trial nicely. She was three back on the markers early, angled out three horses wide on the home turn and finished off swiftly. ZARSKI finished in second after trailing the leader and coming to the outside with 600m remaining. TIMMY TURTLE produced a big performance for third after he galloped early and lost approximately 40m at the start. He was finishing off quickly via the sprint lane. The early leader ROCKY VALLEY was last of the four runners across the line but wasn’t beaten by far.

Trial 10: - EL BRAVO produced a strong performance to take out the tenth event. He was behind the leader early but moved to the death seat with just under a lap remaining and did the work in the final circuit. He battled on strongly in the straight and held off the late challenge of SOVEREIGN TIGER, which settled down in fifth position then landed the one out and one back trail in the final circuit. RYMES showed very good gate speed to lead from a wide alley and did everything right in the trial, battling on fairly well for third position.

BLACKBOOKER: - El Bravo

Trial 11: - FIGHTER COMMAND posted a narrow but decisive victory in the final trial. He settled down last of the trio, came to the outside at the 500m and appeared to have plenty in reserve when he edged past his stable mate HES FROM HEAVEN NZ in a slick final quarter of 27.5 seconds. HES FROM HEAVEN NZ was behind the leader TRIPLE FOUR NZ early but circled around to take up the front running role at the 1700m. He finished a narrow second and TRIPLE FOUR NZ ended up being a further 80m away in third position.
