SHEPPARTON 04/11/21
Trial 1: - GOLDEN SUNSET began quickly and was able to work across to find the lead on the first corner. She ran along at a genuine tempo and was challenged by LOVE GUN on the home turn but was lifting nicely and got away when LOVE GUN made an error in the home straight. She is a smart mare and commenced her campaign on a bright note when she won at Kilmore on Thursday night. PRETTYLILANGUS began quickly to find the markers first, took cover and finished in second position. HI HO KYVALLEY settled four back on the inside and was able to fill third spot albeit thirty metres behind the winner. LOVE GUN settled three back on the inside, made a move at the 500m and sprinted quickly to join GOLDEN SUNSET approaching the home turn. He went to a narrow lead but just as GOLDEN SUNSET was asked for a little more and started to respond, he broke stride and lost his chance. He backed up in a heat of the Breeders Crown on Thursday and broke stride again. He possesses high speed and will win races when he mends his manners. ROGUE GENTLEMAN settled in fifth position but broke stride with 900m remaining and dropped off the main group. DIDN’T MIDGE broke stride in the score up and was tailed off throughout.
Mile Rate: - 2.2.6 Last Half: - 59.1 Margins: - 18m, 12m
Trial 2: - SASSINESS began well and was the first to the markers, got shuffled to four back on the inside at the bell, came out three horses wide at the 300m and finished off nicely to get the prize. She is better than her race form suggests and is capable of running an improved race at Shepparton this afternoon. KELLYS DELIGHT was fifth to begin, moved up without cover at the 1300m, found the lead at the bell and battled on quite well in the straight for second. HIDALGO pressed forward to find the lead on the first turn, took a trail at the bell behind KELLYS DELIGHT and battled away for third at the end. CRYSTAL FLAME was four back on the inside, got inconvenienced by a tiring runner and was last at the 700m before coming to the outside and making ground over the latter stages albeit being beaten by a large margin. KELLYS IDEAL was sixth early, gained a one out and one back trail behind KELLYS DELIGHT, was left without cover at the bell and switched to the inside approaching the home turn. She ended up finishing directly behind HIDALGO, not making a move in the home straight and going to the line hard held. PAS DE COURU was last of the seven runners early, joined the one wide lane (1-2) at the 1300m then was one out and one back momentarily at the bell before switching to the inside. She battled in the latter stages but was able to beat home FOURSTRINGS (Badlands Hanover – Shay De Rayne 1.57.0, $39,904), which began quickly to trail the leader, ended up being three back on the markers then started to yield ground with a lap remaining.
Mile Rate: - 2.2.0 Last Half: - 59.6 Margins: - 6m, 10m
Trial 3: - DRESSED IN GOLD began quickly to lead and backed off the tempo mid-race. He went to the line under a vice like grip, racing away from his rivals to win easily. He remains undefeated from two starts in New Zealand so he obviously has ability. LOMBO EYE WATCH was caught a little wide going into the first corner but was able to angle onto the markers to be in third position. He was able to run past the trotter JACKSON SQUARE, which trailed the leader throughout, to grab second with JACKSON SQUARE holding down a distant third. LOMBO EYE WATCH is competing at Shepparton this afternoon but is poorly drawn. BETTORS REIGN (Bettors Delight – Braeview Express 2.1.4, $9,985) settled last of the five runners but was able to get past LIKEAVEEEIGHT (4 back markers) in the final circuit.

BLACKBOOKER: - Dressed in Gold NZ
Trial 4: - ABETTAWAYTODOIT (Betterthancheddar – Elixir 1.55.1, $231,180) is a nicely bred pacer being out of the former outstanding mare Elixir. He took on the trotters in a standing start trial to end the program and was successful. He was the last horse to begin, trailed the leader from the bell and was too quick at the end. HES A HAMMER (Andover Hall – Shes An Image 1.57.4, $233,824) stepped away nicely to find the lead and set up a slow tempo. He went to the line without being fully extended and battled on well to go down by a narrow margin. He made his debut in a heat of the Breeders Crown at Maryborough on Thursday but unfortunately made an error and finished last of the nine runners. CINKARI trailed the leader, galloped at the bell and lost 15m then broke stride again and lost all chance with 600m remaining.
Mile Rate: - 2.10.4 Last Half: - 61.6 Margin: - Neck
KYABRAM 07/11/21
Trial 1: - JACKSON SQUARE competed in the Swan Hill Cup on September 30 so he is a classy trotter and he was able to beat the pacers in the opening trial. He was backing up from his third placed effort at a Shepparton trial three days earlier so he should have gained some confidence from both of those performances. It has been a good lead up for his effort in the Elmore Trotters Cup to be run at Bendigo on Tuesday night. LETTUCEVENTILATE hasn’t raced since being unplaced at Melton in May. He finished second, just ahead of HARD ROAD in a good finish and he will back up at Shepparton this afternoon.
Mile Rate: - 2.6.4 Last Half: - 60.0 Margins: - 1m, 1m
Trial 2: - HARTNETT hasn’t raced since a debut ninth at Shepparton in April. He was able to defeat the qualifier CHEROKEE JAC (American Ideal – Little Red Cloud 1.52.0, $170,042), which is out of a very fast race mare in Little Red Cloud. UNFORBIDDEN (Roll With Joe – The Mistral) is yet to make his debut and was able to finish ahead of the lightly raced filly ASSUMING, which has been unplaced in all three starts to date.
Mile Rate: - 2.10.9 Last Half: - 61.4 Margins: - 1m, 15m
Trial 3: - CAUGHT OUT was formerly prepared by Simone and Andrew Walker and she was placed once in nine attempts. She is now being trained by Michael Watt and was able to win the second trial in slow time. MAC ALMIGHTY started his Australian career with Tim Butt at Menangle and had several different trainers in New South Wales. He was unplaced at his first run for Rodney Lakey at Melton on October 20 and has since chance stables again and is now being prepared by Susan Hunter. He finished second ahead of MINIKA, which has also had a change of scenery, travelling down from Frank Mercieca in the Sunraysia to be trained by Geoffrey Allen.
Mile Rate: - 2.10.9 Last Half: - 61.8 Margins: - 1m, Head
Trial 4: - CRYSTAL FLAME didn’t have much luck at her trial fourth three days earlier at Shepparton and was able to back up quickly to take out the final event. She scored by a comfortable margin over SHES GOING PLACES, which has had a second and a fourth in two starts since resuming from a break. PRINCESS POWER (Artistic Fella – Torquen Power 2.0.2, $58,601) is yet to face the starter but she is out of the 2003 South Australian Oaks winner in Torquen Power. She was last of the three runners to complete the course.
Mile Rate: - 2.12.0 Last Half: - 61.7 Margins: - 3m, 25m
MILDURA 08/11/21
Trial 1: - BLACKTOP ROCK began quickly and pushed forward to race without cover. He hit the lead approaching the home turn and remained strong at the finish to score in a mile rate of 1.58.6. He is awkwardly drawn for his effort at Mildura this evening but must be given a winning chance on that display. SHALLOW POCKETS did very well for a juvenile taking on the older horses. He trailed the leader, moved away from the inside on the home turn and tried very hard in the home straight. He will be making his Victorian debut at Horsham on Monday afternoon and is not without a chance. QUITE CONTRARY (Art Major – Tombstone Eden 1.55.4, $74,222) was also a very good performance for a 2yo pacer, particularly considering she is yet to make her debut. She gained a one out and one back trail, came out three horses wide on the home turn and held on nicely over the final stages. AUCKLAND LASS settled in sixth position (1-2), came out four carts wide on the home turn and battled on reasonably well for fourth. She is backing up at Mildura this evening. JAY MILLER began quickly to lead and set up a genuine tempo but tired over the latter stages. LILBITAHENRYTEE was three back on the markers and finished ahead of LITTLE BELIEVER, which was last of the seventh runners for the duration and was under pressure with a lap remaining. LILBITAHENRYTEE is competing in the second race at Mildura this evening.
Mile Rate: - 1.58.6 Last Half: - 60.0 Margins: - Neck, 8m
Trial 2: - The former New South Wales trained pacer TERROR TO ROCK has recently joined trainer Boris Devcic and couldn’t have been more impressive. He began quickly to lead, ran along at a rapid rate and scored by 30m without being fully extended. He makes his Victorian debut at Mildura this evening and will prove extremely hard to beat on that performance. HEAR THE CALL dropped back to be last of the six runners around the first turn, moved up without cover at the 1000m, was able to slot onto the markers in fourth at the bell and produced a reasonable finish to run into second late. He galloped at his Mildura debut last week and has the ability to run an improved race this evening. ROCK IN HEAVEN began quickly to trail the leader and finished a distant third. EDDEE was three back on the markers before trying to make a run with 600m remaining. He battled on fairly well in the straight to finish fourth ahead of BUYERS MARKET, which was caught wide early before restraining into a rearward position. OUR LITTLE ROCK (Pet Rock – Buckland Belle 2.1.4, $37,646) was four back on the inside but started to yield ground with a lap remaining and was the last one to greet the judge. EDDEE will compete in the second race at Mildura this evening and BUYERS MARKET will take his place in the last event.
Mile Rate: - 1.58.8 Last Half: - 60.0 Margins: - 30m, 3m
BLACKBOOKER: - Terror To Rock
Trial 3: - SWEET CHARIOT began very quickly and was able to lead comfortably. She ran along at a genuine tempo and held on to score. She is making her Victorian debut at Horsham on Monday afternoon. COME ON ELVIS trailed the leader and was held up for a run at a vital stage. He gained a clear passage with 100m remaining and flew home late to get within one metre of the winner. DES TROY did extremely well for a horse with a low National Rating of 43. He was three back on the markers behind COME ON ELVIS and worked through nicely along the inside in the latter stages. He competes in the opening event at Mildura this evening and is capable of improving on his numerical form. PUOPOLO began quickly but was left stranded without cover throughout. He battled away nicely for fourth with CARAGGIO ESCCAPEE being in fifth position after being in the one out and one back trail throughout. MISSTHIRDTIMELUCKY (Julius Caesar – Misseinstein 1.59.5, $16,744) settled down last on the markers, moved into the running lane mid-race (1-2) and broke stride with 300m remaining.
Mile Rate: - 2.1.3 Last Half: - 59.5 Margins: - 1m, 4m
Trial 4: - ROCKNROLL LEGEND was out of position by approximately 15m at the start, trailed the leader BIG BLACK DIAMOND in the field of just two runners and came to the outside leaving the back straight on the final occasion. He finished off best to score by a narrow margin and is backing up at Mildura this evening but is taking on a very strong field.
Mile Rate: - 2.4.2 Last Half: - 60.3 Margin: - Head
BENDIGO 08/11/21
Trial 1: - It was a field of two runners to commence the night with MONATANA CHEVELLE defeating ALLENS DELIGHT. ALLENS DELIGHT bounced away best and found the lead comfortably with MONTANA CHEVELLE being a little slow but safely away when the strands released. ALLENS DELIGHT started trotting roughly approaching the home turn and MONTANA CHEVELLE pounced to win drawing away by 20m.
Mile Rate: - 2.10.4 Last Half: - 61.9 Margin: - 20m
Trial 2: - HOLD THAT GOLD (Angus Hall – Hold That Grin 2.3.0, $27,813) began quickly to lead and was setting up a slow tempo before breaking stride at the bell. He dropped out to be in fourth position before moving into the one out and one back trail approaching the home turn. He then came to the outside in the straight and ran home strongly to score. KIVICI (Orlando Vici – Kimmywho 1.59.6, $78,385) trailed the leader before pushing through to lead when HOLD THAT GOLD galloped at the bell. She was run down at the end but she was never extended at any stage. Both HOLD THAT GOLD and KIVICI will make their debut at Bendigo on Tuesday night and they performed well enough to be considered as a winning chance in their respective events. EE BE MAC (Tennotrump – Photogenic Too) settled in fourth, got to third at the bell and ended up being without cover from the 500m. He finished third in a very close finish and like KIVICI, was never asked for the supreme effort. WAIKARE MAXWELL (Sebastian K – Waikare Patricia 1.59.9, $149,071) settled in third, trailed the leader from the bell and used the sprint lane. He dashed through to finish fourth with IVAR being the last one to finish after breaking stride at the start, racing roughly at various stages and breaking stride again at the 500m.
Mile Rate: - 2.11.6 Last Half: - 64.5 Margins: - Head, Head
Trial 3: - IONA SPIDER began quickly and was able to work to the lead at the 1800m mark. She excels when she is able to lead and she never appeared to be in trouble at any stage, coasting down to the line to win comfortably and giving trainer Shane Hall a double in the process. JENNYSFAVOURITE was three back on the markers, moved through to trail the leader at the 500m mark and came away from the inside on the home turn. She tried hard and finished a handy second with SUNSUP being ten metres away in third position. SUNSUP was slow in the score up but found her position at the start, settled four back on the inside and came out three horses wide on the home turn. VINCENT KAI settled fifth on the inside, moved up without cover at the bell, got a breather behind BACARDI JESS at the 500m mark and came out wide in the straight. He finished fourth with BACARDI JESS being in fifth position after powering to the lead early, taking cover and coming to the outside in the back straight on the final occasion. LEOTARDANDLACE broke stride momentarily at the start, lost 15m and was last for the duration. The second placed JENNYSFAVOURITE strikes a suitable field in the last event at Bendigo on Tuesday night and will take beating if she delivers a fool proof display. VINCENT KAI is also competing at Bendigo on Tuesday night and is poorly drawn on the second line.
Mile Rate: - 2.3.6 Last Half: - 59.8 Margins: - 2m, 10m
Trial 4: - RULES DON’T APPLY was a very impressive winner of the fourth trial after he settled in fourth position, came to the outside with 500m remaining and finished off strongly at the end. He has drawn on the pole position for the Elmore Trotters Cup on Tuesday night and could run a cheeky race first up. HUMBLE LADD showed brilliant gate speed to lead, ran along at an even tempo and was run down in the final 100m. DAQUIRI was three back on the inside and wanted to race keenly in the middle stages. He came away from the markers and eased to the outside of RULES DON’T APPLY in the home straight before holding his ground at the end. He resumes from a spell in the Elmore Trotters Cup on Tuesday. ILLAWONG STARDUST began quickly to trail the leader, used the sprint lane and appeared to have her chance in fourth position. LUCINDA MAC was last of the five runners for the duration but appeared to be content to follow the field around without exerting too much energy.
Mile Rate: - 2.0.6 Last Half: - 58.6 Margins: - 4m, 3m
Trial 5: - PUZZLE PIECE began quickly to find the lead, took a trail and ended up being three back on the markers before angling into the running lane (1-1) with 500m remaining. He accelerated nicely in the straight to get the prize by a narrow margin. He returns from a spell at Horsham on Monday and performed well enough at his trial victory to suggest he can be competitive. JAIMEE (Captaintreacherous – Ponder Girl 1.52.9, $84,320) was three horses wide early before pushing forward to find the lead with 1700m remaining. He raced greenly on the home turn so he should be improved by the experience. MISSED THE TRUTH (Somebeachsomewhere – Lies 1.58.0, $22,587) began quickly to lead, took a trail at the 1700m and used the sprint lane. She finished a close up third ahead of MAC GIBBS (Western Terror – Lohi Liz 1.59, $32,367), which settled fifth on the markers before moving into the death seat with 800m remaining. He raced greenly in the final stages so he will obviously improve with the run. ROLL WITH RON settled four back on the inside and beat home ILLAWONG ARGYLE (A Rocknroll Dance – Hi Flyin Lombo 2.2.3, $54,387), which settled down in last position and was under pressure from the 600m.
Mile Rate: - 2.4.5 Last Half: - 60.5 Margins: - Head, 1m
Trial 6: - DEVIL OF A SMILE settled three back on the inside, moved away from the markers at the 1700m and dashed to the lead at the 1500m. He backed off the tempo mid-race and had a good kick left in the run to the finish. TERROR OFA SAINT (Western Terror – Saint Grace 1.59.8, $14,356) settled four back on the inside, moved around to be three back at the 1100m, finished off nicely late to be second and was well clear of his other two rivals. SHAUN TO THE MAX began very quickly to lead, took cover behind DEVIL OF A SMILE and had his chance over the final stages, finishing a distant third. DESIRE TO LIVE trailed the leader early but wasn’t able to hold his position mid-race and dropped out to be last of the four runners at the finish.
Mile Rate: - 2.4.5 Last Half: - 59.4 Margins: - 5m, 25m
Trial 7: - MISO MISO hung in badly at the start and settled three back on the markers. He moved up without cover at the 800m, hit the front at the quarter pole and rolled away from his rivals to score by a large margin. He backed up with a fourth placed effort at Kilmore on Thursday night, where he appeared to have his chance. WHATA JOURNEY was checked at the start and lost ten metres, settled last on the markers and moved to the outside at the 500m. He finished off nicely to finish in second position. MISTER CRACKER began quickly to find the lead and set up a slow tempo. He hung out under pressure over the latter stages and ended up finishing in a distant third. PRIDE OF MARY trailed the leader throughout and finished last of the quartet.
Mile Rate: - 2.3.8 Last Half: - 59.5 Margins: - 30m, 10m
Trial 8: - OZZIE PLAYBOY settled three back on the markers, moved into the death seat at the 500m, sprinted quickly to hit the lead at the quarter pole and won very easily in the run to the finish. He attempted to lead throughout at Kilmore on Thursday night and was run down by the former New Zealander Mister McLintock. SAYITAINTSO JOE settled last of the four runners, gained the perfect run behind OZZIE PLAYBOY at the 500m and never really came to the outside over the final stages, going to the line with something in reserve. DON’T WASTE TIME (McArdle – Live Your Life) trailed the leader throughout and finished a distant third. DARKIES LAST (Hurrikane Kingcole – Lil Safe) began quickly to find the lead, ran along at an even tempo but was run down from the 500m.
Mile Rate: - 2.2.3 Last Half: - 60.5 Margins: - 3m, 50m

Mile Rate: - 2.1.7 Last Half: - 61.1 Margins: - 4m, 6m
Trial 10: - CHILLER BAY continued his impressive trial form with a big victory over SHECANDOIT. He settled last of the seven runners, moved up without cover from the 1100m and hit the front from the 300m mark. Considering the last 800m was run in a slick 56.4 seconds, his effort was extremely good and he should prove hard to beat when he makes his Victorian debut. SHECANDOIT trailed the leader, moved away from the inside on the home turn and tried hard in the straight. She is backing up at Shepparton this afternoon and could bob up at longer odds. POLLY PEACHUM showed her usual gate speed to charge to the lead and ran along at an even tempo. She was run down on the home turn and ended up in third position. ROCKS ARNT PETS settled four back on the markers and finished in fourth spot. NIKITA ADELE settled fifth on the inside, gained a one out and one back trail at the 700m and remained in fifth position. He backed up at Kilmore on Thursday night and finished in eighth position after having little luck. LEIGHA MILLER began well to be in the one out and one back trail early, came out three horses wide at the 1700m and found the lead at the 1500m. She battled on well for third in front of KEILAH, which trailed the leader early and ended up being three back on the markers. Trial 3: - ANDOVER SUN began quickly and was able to work to the front shortly after the start. He is a very talented horse when he puts it altogether and he dashed home in a slick final quarter of 27.8 seconds. NATTY PAGGER led out, took a trail behind ANDOVER SUN and came to the outside at the 500m mark. He chased hard but couldn’t peg back the winner. He was without cover early, three back on the markers, one out and one back at the 800m and three horses wide from the 300m so the trial would have given him a good education. Trial 7: - CATCH A WAVE is a very good horse but he could be even better if he learns to settle in his races. He did a bit wrong in the score up and was placed outside of the draw when he won a heat of the Breeders Crown at Maryborough. He won the trial with ease after restraining at the start, being in fourth early and moving into the breeze at the 800m mark. He was jogging up to the winning post and could have won by much further. He remains omitted from the draw in mobile starts for his semi-final effort in the Breeders Crown series at Melton tomorrow night and providing all goes to plan, he should be right to be placed back in the draw for the Final. THREE RIVERS is a former New Zealand pacer, which remains undefeated after a success against the maiden class at Rangiora in February. He began quickly to lead and ran a cheeky race for second, beating the others by a comfortable margin. SPENDTHRIFT (Grinfromeartoear – Rosa Toscana) settled three back on the inside and beat home SUZIE QUE TIKI (Rock N Roll Heaven – Alissa Tiki), which was last of the six for the duration.

She finished second and was nicely clear of CRYSTAL FLAME, which led out then took a trail.
