Trots Clubs Victoria, HRV, Tabcorp Park push fundraiser beyond $100k

The Victorian harness racing industry fundraising effort to support Gavin Lang and his family during his current health battle has eclipsed the $100,000 target, with Trots Clubs Victoria (TCV), Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) and Tabcorp Park today announcing a combined contribution of $12,000.

Today HRV revealed that $5000 was raised through merchandise sales and Tabcorp Park Melton’s venue raffle at the Summer of Glory, while Trots Clubs Victoria has contributed $7000.

“This is one of the many great things about our industry – how people rally around one of their own,” TCV CEO Carl Coady said.

“The clubs have leapt at the opportunity to support Gavin and his family and TCV is only too willing to facilitate this.”

HRV CEO Dayle Brown said the response to the GoFundMe page set up by the Caduceus Club had been “characteristically generous from an industry that always supports one another in times of adversity”.

“Today’s contribution from TCV and HRV through Tabcorp Park and merchandise sales takes the amount raised for Lang and his family to over $100,000. This is wonderful and I’m sure that figure will continue to climb,” Brown said.

“Thank you to all our clubs for their support of this important cause. Gavin, to you and your family, the industry is right behind you in these difficult times.”
