Trots Life: Aaron is cracking the Coad after Mildura move

A family involvement in harness racing led Mildura trainer Aaron Coad to venture into harness racing.

While juggling his building business in Broken Hill, his training career began with Vicstarr Sharazzz, who recorded four wins in his first six starts for Coad.

He told Toby McKinnon on SEN Track’s Trots Life the move to Mildura was to expand his interests in harness racing.

“Twelve months ago we made the decision to start looking for a place down here and get into the racing,” he said.

Now, working six horses and with 17 wins under his belt, the Coad stable is only increasing its presence in the Sunraysia region.

Tonight his last-start winner Artistic Cowboy returns to Mildura off a successful return to Broken Hill when he led all the way.

Coad is confident the horse will “be hard to catch down the home straight (tonight)”.
