The Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Trots Media podcast channel is growing exponentially.
Sports fans are consuming a variety of HRV Trots Media podcast content via Apple Podcasts and, in more recent times, one of the world’s most popular music streaming platforms in Spotify.
“Search Trots Media in Spotify or indeed any of the major podcast apps and you’ll find us,” HRV Media and Communications Manager Cody Winnell said.
“Podcasts are an exciting growth area for us. Our channel’s plays increased by 130 per cent last year, from just shy of 20,000 plays in 2018 to almost 46,000 in 2019. The projections are that we’ll almost double that number of plays again this year.
“Good content is the key. Our editor Michael Howard has ensured we’ve got a range of offerings on Trots Media podcasts, from form and wagering to horse welfare to harness history and personality to news and industry information. Importantly we also have a variety of voices on the channel.”
Subscribing to podcast channels is of course free and HRV is encouraging listeners to positively review Trots Media podcasts to help promote the sport up the mainstream podcast charts. The more positive reviews a podcast garners, the more chance it will be fed to new listeners.
HRV is also now offering advertising opportunities to partners through its podcast network.
“Live reads on podcasts are incredibly flexible, which is a great selling point,” Partnership Marketing Coordinator Bianca Walker said.
“Advertisers can promote their latest offerings and don’t need to wait for complex changing of artwork or ad placements. They can simply tweak the message instantly. And you also get to be part of the discussion, with actual engagement with the on-air talent.
“The stats show that our podcast network is only going to continue to grow, so now is a great time to get involved and receive maximum bang for buck.”
