Chris Svanosio trained and drove a treble and David Miles scored a double last night as the Sunday trot-light turned to Cranbourne.

The win of trotter Magicool (pictured here winning at Melton, by Stuart McCormick) in the Aldebaran Park Trotters Handicap was especially pleasing for most punters, the $2.1 favourite saluting from a 40-metre backmark.

The son of Tennotrump moved to the chair at the 1400m outside leader Izmok, but didn’t put any real heat on until the 400m.

Izmok fought on gamely, but Magicool’s class eventually shone brightest, drawing clear for a 2.9m win in a rate of 2:03.5 for the 2575m stand-start race.

Your Nicked finished in second – a top run – for Greg and Steve Leight, with Izmok holding on for third.

Svanosio’s other two winners were Delightful Mia in the Melton Saddlery Pace and Kvyaley Shaunie in the TAB, Long May We Play 3YO Trot.

Miles’ double came via four-year-old mare Izzy Jolie in the Woodlands Stud Pace, defeating Tanabi Falcon by 2m in 2:00.5 over 2080m, and impressive Enchanted Stride in the Hyland Harness Colours Pace in 1:57.3 over 1609m.

Impressive three-year-old filly Theultimate (pictured cruising home for Chris Alford) made it two from two this time in for trainer John Yeomans and reinsman Chris Alford in the Mark Gurry and Associates 3YO Pace, scoring by 8.9m over Cuzin Lyndal in 2:00.7 over 2080m.

Feisty Phoebe ripped up the sprint lane to score a strong win in the Decron Pace over 2080m in 2:02.6 for trainer Rita Burnett and driver Austin Mifsud.

The four-year-old mare by Modern Art out of Apple Sorbet has shown glimpses of talent in her short career so far and could be worth following moving forward.

Well- backed Tip Top Grandpa finished the program with a win in the Hygain Trot for trainer Charlie Farrugia and driver Darren Zahra, the lightly raced 10-year-old scoring a 5.3m win over Pickles Magee in 2:04.4.

Four-year-old gelding by Artistic Fella out of Naughty Maree.

First foal from Modern Art mare Naughty Maree. Naughty Maree was a half-sister to the well-performed Mister Grizzly (29 wins from 133 starts, 1:55.3, $207k).

Didn’t set the world alight in recent trial performances.
