TrotsLife has created a ‘super series’ of its own, with the SENTrack show hosting a range of guests who will feature in the Vicbred Super Series finals on Saturday night at Melton.
Today Nicole Lear, Graham McDermott, Grant Forrest (pictured) and Greg Sugars all dialed in to share their stories ahead of the New Year’s Eve spectacular, which carries 12 Group 1s.
Lear shared how she came to get her hands on My Jerry, her first horse as a trainer, and how she is thrilled to have a Group 1 runner at just her 12th start.
She told Toby McKinnon she will be there on Saturday night along with her daughter Bridie, who has become My Jerry’s special little friend. LISTEN IN:

Graham McDermott has had at least 10 finalists across a lifetime of training, producing multiple placings, but has never been able to secure that elusive winner.
Waikare Maxwell, who will contest Saturday night’s Aldebaran Park final for 3YO trotting boys, isn’t the best chance he has ever had, but he dares to dream.
TrotsLife listeners were told that in the 1950s the late Ron Rich named his Dubbo farm after visiting Waikare in New Zealand, and all his horses were prefixed the name from then on. McDermott’s late father, Henry, developed a relationship with Ron Rich in the ’70s when he was a farmer and part time trainer in Parkes. McDermott honours both men by continuing the Waikare name on. Grant Forrest will have to wait all night until emerging star mare Thebestbourbon tackles the Aldebaran Park four-year-old mares Group 1 in the last.
While she appears at bolters odds, the New South Wales trainer’s hopes are high that a change in method has seen the mare emerge as a real contender, confidence built on her outstanding win against proven trotters over the middle trip at Menangle two runs ago. LISTEN IN:

Greg Sugars has had a stellar year as a driver and as a part of the team that makes up the powerful Larajay Farm, which will present 14 finalists on Saturday night.
While that includes a number of up and coming trotters who will take on their biggest challenges, Sugars says Better Eclipse has the draw to lead throughout in the remarkable Rock N Roll Heaven 4YO entires and geldings final. LISTEN IN:
