Jason Woods has taken all the treasure with a dominant performance in the last week of TrotStars, which landed him not only the Week 3 prize pool but overall honours.
A mere $80 separated Woods from second-placed Stephen Spark and $170 from third-placed Dave Jones, with the winner’s TrotStars stable amassing $646,500 in stakes across the three-week TAB Summer of Glory.
Woods, a Victorian stablehand and owner of pirate-inspired pacers Arggghhh and Argh Me Hearty, teamed Hunter Cup winner Lochinvar Art with Great Southern Star winner Tornado Valley and Pacifico Dream, Yorkshire and Well Defined to top the table in week three.
The $529,000 in stakes winnings were matched by Thomas Parnell, with Woods declared the week three winner on a tiebreaker, having been first to enter his team.
Woods amassed a further $82,500 in week two and $35,000 in week one to secure the overall crown.
As a result he takes home a prize pool courtesy of TrotStars supporters Ticketblaster, Catanachs Jewellers, Dilmah Tea and Menz Club.
