TrotsVision broadcasts to return under new cost-effective model

A new streamlined, cost-efficient TrotsVision returns from Saturday for Victoria’s feature harness racing season.

Kicking off on Vicbred Super Series finals night, when Sky Racing’s Brittany Graham will join the telecast for 12 Group 1s, the Saturday night broadcasts will give punters and trots fans the first and last word from key participants.

Harness Racing Victoria Head of Media Ryan Phelan said viewers would enjoy a targeted racing experience, with tips, key insights, and celebrations.

“TrotsVision has been a vital part of our industry since its inception in 2018, but it’s been prudent to refocus the service to cater for a wider audience,” Phelan said.

Coverage will be in partnership with Sky Racing, including being beamed through Sky Racing Active as well as TrotsVision at thetrots.com.au.

“We will have an efficient presentation that gives punters and fans outstanding access, including pre-race interviews in the Pryde’s EasiFeed Parade Ring, and on track ahead of the score-up.”

Race caller Dan Mielicki will share his insights and tips, and viewers will hear the first words post-race from winning drivers.

The coverage, which will be regularly hosted by Phelan, Tim O’Connor and Bronte Nieuwenburg, will run through to March. The new format presents a year-on-year saving of almost $350,000 to the Victorian harness racing industry.

Saturday’s 12-race program kicks off at 5.35pm, producing Group 1 champions all the way to the last at 11.09pm.
