Two more Victorian trotters land The Great Square invites

Star Victorian squaregaiters Arcee Phoenix and Courage Stride are both headed north after receiving invites to the inaugural running of the Haras des Trotteurs The Great Square.

The Great Square is a new Group 1 $150,000 feature for three and four-year-old trotters, scheduled for Albion Park on July 8.

The race also carries a $25,000 bonus if won by a three-year-old.

Arcee Phoenix is prepared by Chris Svanosio, while Courage Stride is trained by Chris Lang.

“The 2023 Queensland Constellations continues to attract some of Australian harness racing’s biggest names,” Racing Queensland’s Senior Harness Racing Manager David Brick said.

“The excitement continues to build for this new Group 1 race, and the confirmation of Arcee Phoenix and Courage Stride will only serve to build the anticipation.

“We are expecting a high-quality race at Albion Park, and we look forward to unveiling further acceptances as we draw closer to July 8.”

David Miles’ top filly Rockinwithattitude will also be part of The Great Square, but connections of Joe Pace’s Kiwi import Harry Stamper have now decided against taking up their invite to the race.
