Friends and admirers of Bill Glover have paid tribute to one of the trots' "finest judges" and form analysts.

Mr Glover, who died in May after a battle with cancer, has been lauded on social media for the guiding hand he gave to many renowned trots enthusiasts and for his form contributions on RSN 927.

Bill Hutchison tweeted that Mr Glover "joins Brian Atkinson as the finest trots judges I've known", adding I "hope they are terrorising the bookies up there".

Craig Nott wrote that Mr Glover was his "idol".

"He gave me my first ever stopwatch and taught me how to do form and what to look for," he wrote on Twitter.

Famed racecaller Bryan Martin said Mr Glover "did a great service to the harness industry and to a strong listener base over many years on 3UZ".

Bookmaker Tom Hogan wrote it was "very sad to see the passing of one the finest judges in harness racing", adding his "mail on the old 3UZ around 11am every day was spot on had 1000s of followers waiting for Billy's tips".

Mr Glover was also a Glen Iris Cricket Club member (pictured), where he reportedly "enjoyed legendary status and was a treasured life member of the club".

Harness Racing Victoria extends its condolences to Mr Glover's family and friends.
